    Congrat Honeybe, he's gorgeous!

Well done Kaza on the excellent bargain hunting, we bought our car seat at the weekend then had to take it back again as there were bits missing! We signed up for a Mothercare card at the same time though and got a fair amount knocked off so we were happy with that :-)

My moneysaving tip is don't grow a bump! I'm now 26 weeks and have just started growing a bump but I still don't look pregnant! I'm steadfastly wearing maternity clothes as they're comfier which leads me to an actual money saving tip:

Peacocks maternity! I'm wearing this top atm and it's so comfy, very generous size, extremely flattering and all fo this for only £6! :-) You can get them in some stores (Peacocks' website tells you which ones) or online :-)

Still working my way through the threads as I've been away for a week, but just wanted to say "Thank you!" I'm going to go to Peacocks and get a couple of these tops. There's no maternity in the few Peacocks nearest me, but bf works near one that does, so result!

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and haven't booked antenatal classes yet. Rooted through all the information that the midwife gave me and will ring up today. Hopefully I'm not too late. Was looking on the internet yesterday and was not happy with all the bad press my local hospital has been getting for maternity. Watford is not good apparently for lots of reasons. Eek!

Phew! Read through all the threads since I went away. Slowly catching up.

My bubba is bouncing around quite a lot now inside me which is quite a funky feeling. He/she went to sleep for about 3 days on hols which freaked me out a little, but it might have been a tad too hot.

Starting to look at prams etc. Bf wants a combination one that has a basic frame which can be made into a pushchair for when bubba is slightly older, and then the carrycot pram bit that can completely come out so as not to wake baby and make life easier for ourselves. And also where the cat seat can fix onto the frame as well. Doesn't want much, does he? There is one in Mamas and Papas for £450, so just trying to see if we can find one that does what he wants for cheaper.

Booked my 4D scan for 18th July when I will be 26 weeks and cannot wait! Will also find out the sex at the same time which is mega exciting.

Hello everyone - I have been on the TTC thread since early May and this morning I had a positive pregancy test :j It is our 2nd wedding anniversary today so this is the best present we could ever have hoped for!!

This is only our 2nd month of TTC since I came off the pill so we have been very lucky, especially considering our ages - I am 31 (32 in 6 weeks) Hubby is 42!

I have to admint that I haven't really thought about what happens now :o obviously I need to go and see the doc - do people normally go alone or take hubby along?

Also, if anyone has any advice on breaking the news to my 8 yr old Step-Son I would be grateful.

PS Me and bf were discussing routines last night and how best for me to get in one. I am giving up work at just over 32 weeks as I have a lot of commuting to do. I have said I will get up at 7am and go to bed at 11pm to get myself in a routine and not stay in bed late (tempting though!)

He said I should have different days for washing, cleaning, ironing etc. as I was wondering what on earth I will do with myself for 2 month before baby comes. What do other people do?

He says that if I start early enough, I will know how long different things take and can figure out what I can do when baby is sleeping etc. All sounds very simplistic and I'm sure it's not, i.e. I know it will all go out the window when baby is born anyways.

Or indeed know how long it should take him to do wtuff while you're busy being a new mum ;-)

Himself keep reading advice for dads for when their wife is breastfeeding, he's very put out that they all tell him he can help by doing the housework! So I suggested that he could bath the baby, and change her and wind her and he was happy with that. So now he's got all of that and the housework *evil laughing* ;-)

MFD, many congratulations! Handily a friend of mine has a smallish child and we're at the same doctors so I made her tell me what happens! I rang the doctors and told them I'd had a couple of positive pregnancy tests so I needed to see the midwife. They didn't check I was right or anything but I know some do!

I didn't take Himself along as he was at work and we're saving his holiday days for more interesting appointments and after the youngling arrives. But I did take my friend for moral support, and I know she took her husband when she went for hers so it's whatever your prefer.

The first appointments are pretty dull iirc, lots of medical history and blood pressure and weight and then off you go home!

He's in for a shock then :rotfl:

My "routine" is to sit in bed, or on the sofa with the new baby breastfeeding whenever he wanted. In between, my other half was expected to do everything else, including bringing me copious cups of tea, biscuits, & glasses of iced water with bendy straws in. Remember...you need extra fluids when breastfeeding, & a choccie biccie helps too :T

This continued until he returned to work, when he was expected to do the same after work. I was BUSY feeding his child!
