Hi all,
I'd like to report a 4lb lossthis week:j (13lbs so far) well and truely off the first plateau I hope! That means I've earnt my hairdo, just got to find time to book it. Leg seems fine now so fingers crossed! Cycled only about 10 miles though.
missyg Climbing sounds like fun, hadn't considered that one! You've reminded me about Go Ape though. That might be an option for a later target. Has anyone been?
ajax..... we work to however many significant figures are required. When there's a split right down the middle though, like 4.50 when reporting integers then we round to the even number rather than the higher number. 4.165 to two significant figures would be 4.16 rather than 4.17

Why do you do this?
.... it's a statistical procedure. It's called ASTM E29 and it's mentioned here, but you'd need to be nerdy to look lol0 -
Ajax, you can get a pressie where the person gets taken around the shops in your local town with a personal shopper, who picks out outfits and styles for you to try on. Quite often they pick things you wouldn't dream of putting on yourself and often are surprised by how nice they look (think a non-celebrity, hopefully slightly less annoying version of Trinny or Susannah). I think it's probably a good confidence builder learning how you can make yourself look (and feel) stunning just with the right clothes. Getting your colours done is where the person matches fabric colours to your colouring so you end up with a 'palate' of colours to suit you when picking clothes e.g. green washes you out etc. You can get packages or you could go the MSE route and look in your Yellow Pages for people. Any less Turkish?:D
Well done Wendy, you do sound much brighter as BB says. We'll be here this week to help you out.
Welcome Alison, great first loss! :T And well done to Lemon Drop for reaching your target!

..... OMG! For years, since I first heard the phrase (remember Sandy in Big Brother?), I have thought a personal shopper was someone who worked at the shop, took an order and then brought it around to your house.... not unlike Tesco home delivery I suppose. I guess I just don't move in the right circles - I'd wager there are extremely few personal shoppers here in the Black Country
I can't believe people pay to hear someone say "try the pink one", and then don't even get the dress to show for it. Bizarre!!

Dragon, hope all ok with yourself and MrD, as reason for the stress? Did I miss a post or something? Sorry about the slight gain.
hi Suggs
Basically Dr Dragon's work want him (and his colleague) to provide 24/7 on call cover for the IT department. Last weekend Dr Dragon ended up working an extra 15 hours over the Saturday and Sunday and they are not going to pay any extra for this! It is (according to the bosses) covered under the "additional hours as and when needed" bit of the contract.
Dr Dragon is seeing the Docs because his BP has been creeping up and there is a family history of heart attack and stroke - he was actually shaking on Monday morning and stating he couldn't cope with work that day and was wondering about calling in sick - then saying he didn't really feel bad so should go in. Well I called the surgery, got us both an appointment for BP checks and Dr Dragon's came in at 150/104 HHmg at which point in time the nurse got him in to see the Doctor and the Doc signed him off for a fortnight - oh and told him to start looking for another job as this one is killing him!
My BP was also slightly up (which it NEVER is) but they reckon I am worried about Dr Dragon - that and the chronic painDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
