The way TCB works is made very clear in their T&Cs, which you agree to when you start using the site.

Quote: "Itís extremely simple; we just pass on our advertising commission straight to you, as cashback. Itís the perfect way to earn easy money online."

That's so blatant a distortion of the reality of the arcane processes that thread their way through Top Cashback's business world that it can only be deliberate.

Far from everything being as "extremely simple" as a straightforward relationship between Top Cashback and a retailer, the situation is considerably more cluttered, though that only becomes apparent when a user is unfortunate enough to encounter long delayed cashback payments or even, none at all.

In such circumstances, Top Cashback belatedly reveals problems with "affiliates" and God knows how many other mysterious third parties and monitoring / tracking processes with which it has to deal but whose existence it has taken pains not to divulge to a new user.

Suddenly, Top Cashback's absolute helplessness to deliver promptly on its promises becomes the core of a delayed payment, or even non-payment, problem, and so the company's representatives have to work extra hard and oh-gosh-wow, extra piously, begging users to "please bear with us" because "we're doing our best to sort out the problem. . . though it will take time".

Nothing in there, is there, of the "extreme simplicity" which Top Cashback misleadingly touts as being the essence of the user experience?

The only point I can see of any validity in your post is the reference to user choice. I wholeheartedly agree. Nobody is compelled to sign up to Top Cashback, yet the amount of time some users spend on MSE complaining, you'd have thought they'd been forced to register at gunpoint.

Even worse are others who come on saying "it's all a scam", an accusation as daft in its own way as is your own assertion about the transparency of Top Cashback's business model.

My family used Top Cashback until it became a waste of our time and patience, and its pained bleatings about third parties who had nothing whatsoever do with us, an insult to our intelligence. So we packed it in. Simples.

In fact, as simple as 1, 2, 3.

While I've had a few payments declined these have mostly been where I've doubled up by using discount codes and also going through TCB. The majority do pay eventually.

I did complain a couple of weeks ago that transactions were sitting in the 'pending' list for much longer than expecting. However today a large number of these have suddenly become either 'confirmed' or 'payable'.

Been using TCB for a couple of years now and I've had over £160 paid so far without changing what I buy and where I buy it. Money for nothing. If TCB had the staff to chase every single missed payment they would not be able to pay out the high percentages that they do.

    Hey everyone,

@ stemcgoo Ė Sorry about that, should have said please direct email me at mse@topcashback.co.uk

I will reply back to you as soon as I possibly can.

@ *pinkie* - It may be worth double checking with the retailer as it may be the original quote reference.

Am new to cashback, so I recently bought something and my cashback is showing as pending, it's been only few days

Do I need to actively approve something or give like a confirmation on my side ?

Or is just simply a waiting part ?

    Hi TCB,

I've an outstanding claim for AA Savings - account opened 11th June 2019 and £15.15 cashback tracked and was declined. Claim was sent to retailer 12th August. Since then, there have been a couple of updates saying sorry for the delay.

Given this retailer is no longer on TCB, do you think this is a write off?

    Won't let me cash out
    Hi,

Every time I log in to my topcashback account I get this message:

"To continue and amend your details, including your Payout details, or to request payment, you must first confirm or revert your recent change to your Email address. When you made this change an email will have been sent to your old email address.

If you have not received the email, press the button below to resend it."

When I click to re-send the email it goes straight to an error page with error code 802485925

I have raised a support ticket with them about this 3 days ago but I still haven't had a reply.

    Can anyone help?

    Hey everyone,

@Bill - welcome to our site. The process of getting this moving to confirmed and payable is all automatic. The retailers need to be sure you keep your purchase so this will take a little while 😊

@ctdctd Ė I definitely wouldnít right it off .If we ever feel itís not worth keeping the claim open, we will be honest and open and just explain this to you. We will only keep a claim open if we feel there is still a chance of obtaining the funds.

@Tigger2018 - I can get that sorted. Please drop me an email to mse@topcashback.co.uk

    Best wishes,
    Matt

    Unable to Login
    Hi there

I've been a fairly average user of Topcashback for several years now and the cashback process has worked very well for me, I've only had a couple of issues to raise with support which were dealt with well.

So I've been really happy all this time until a few days ago when I was unable to login. Despite confirming the login details and resetting my password twice I'm still unable to login to my account. I've emailed their contact email address and raised this issue via a form on the website but have not had a reply.

Has anyone else had this issue? I'd be grateful for any help.

Went through Topcashback 20th Nov 2018 for £105. Insurance with Morethan.

    Opened case 7th Dec2018

Reply from TCB 24th Oct 2019. Refused as transaction cannot be traced.

Sent TCB photocopy of my certificate/etc from Morethan with all details including policy number. Which TCB added to Morethans query log.

Reply from TCB 2nd Jan 2020. Refused as now saying invalid policy number.

Suspect they, Morethan did not pay out as I did not renew at the non existent and untraceable policy end of term.

    TCB can do nothing.

So my advice is do not use Morethan hoping for any cashback.

Have added to my list of never dealing with or doing business with again.

    Hiya,
I was just wondering about the 100% new member offers - i'm new to TCB and have already used two. The T&Cs are a bit ambiguous as it states the offer is for new members or those who havent made a claim before. Do you only get one 100% cashback new member deal? Or just once with that retailer? There's another I want to use for dinner tonight but I'm not sure if it's a valid offer if I've had two member deals already.
    Many thanks
