Ladies - we generally tend to leave threads to run until 5000 posts for a lot of reasons - we do keep an eye on them and will close them automatically when they get to that stage :)

    Thanks

Thanks Mrs Tine - I did PM Glad and explain that we wanted to jiggle the thread a bit because of the graduates, but didnt want to make it unwelcoming for new posters re pregnancy posts iyswim. Glad has very kindly closed off the old one for us as we requested so that 2 dont run together. We will let this one run as it should. Thank you very much for monitoring us, and all that you do.

I am 33 and Hubby is 37. I came off the pill late in March 04 and we got our first BFP in June 04. Sadly lost the pg at approx 6 weeks but didn't know we had until the 12 week scan.
Tried again with nothing happening so GP referred us to a Fertility Specialist and we first saw him in Dec 05. We were due to go again in Sept 06 but in the mean time I had had a Hysterosalpingogram in Feb (which was fine) and got my second BFP March 06. Lost that pg too at 6 weeks. Whilst having a D&C to remove the lost pg it was discovered I had some abnormal cervical cells.
A colposcopy in May 06 confirmed I had cervical cancer. (My last smear in Jan 03 had been negative)
I had most of my cervix removed in June 06 and the op was a complete success. I have been cancer free for 3 years now with very regular smear tests. (My how time flies! :D )
Had another Hysterosalpingogram in April 07 just to make sure surgery hadn't scarred my tubes. All was fine.

We are still trying with no luck. Have been told we can have IVF if I lose weight so that's the goal at the moment but we are also thinking about having IVF abroad if their rules are less strict.

Edited to add ~ Regulars will know I don't post often but I do read everyday to keep up with you all and offer advice when/if I can :D

Ooh, shiny new thread - well done and congrats to Lilo!

So do you really want a very dull update? We are both 38, over the hill and well past it we constantly feel - various hospital stays for illness over the last 7 years have stunted our plans and after several failed attempts at PG I gave up for a while to recover. He then persuaded me to think again about a year ago and we had started to look into our medical options - but that has now been put on hold as he has recently been prescribed meds for depression! So I continue to save for whatever help we can buy, but we are also open to adoption and haven't ruled anything out. Just need to get OH feeling more normal first!

So don't be shy in joining, we're a friendly bunch and I'm always happy to share the joys and sadness...

Anybody else think MrsTine can be scary...

    Hiya Lilo.

    Course I did :D

Feeling down in the dumps again these last few days but over swine flu this time. Hubby works with a fella whose son has been confirmed as having the disease at the weekend.
The fella had flu like symptoms himself last week but not bad enough (in his opinion) for him to worry about or stay away from work because of.
Now every little headache, sniffle or getting too hot makes me worry we have it or are going to get it.
Since the surgery even a common cold can really knock me for 6 so I really really do not want to be getting swine flu.
Both of us have been feeling slightly unwell since the weekend but nothing seems to have come of it yet.

Oh well, try not to worry about it :o

Shelly, I should have pmd you, I have been quite worried about it too. I think with our reduced lymph glands we have a 'compromised' immune system (thats what the lymphoedoema (Sp?) lady said anyway) and although I dont know anyone yet, its at 2 schools locally. My son has asthma and suffers badly when he gets a cold anyway.

So I am REALLY hoping it stays away. I dont want to survive cancer and die of swine flu.

I Really hope that you feel better soon and that it stays well away for you. XXXXXXXXXX

Shelly, swine flu is the last thing you need, so keep thinking positive thoughts and send the germs away! Fingers crossed you both feel better soon, x

Oh gawd, tell me about it.
I too was told by my consultant that as I had some lymph nodes taken away my immmune system was lower than normal so would need the normal flu vaccine every year but when I mentioned it to my GP they dismissed it and said the pelvic lymph nodes have nothing to do with fighting off colds/flu.
I need to see a GP soon so will see someone different to last time and mention it again.

Thanks very much. Hubby thinks I worry too much and can think myself sick :rotfl:
