Morning all, and thanks for words of support - I'm glad it's not just me getting emotional/crazy/over-reacting. I'll let you know what the GP says today.
Hi Ginvzt - really sorry you've got the flu, glad the tamiflu/paracetamol is working - and hope it gets better over the weekend!0 -
Well, OH's brother is arriving today as well - he cancelled his trip to Mexico when the outbreak began in fear of it, now to come to UK when I have it!!!!
Call it a fate...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
I hope you feel better soon Ginvzt. On the positive side, provided you are feeling better by Monday, at least you have now had it and will hopefully be immune, which means that if your investigations work and you get your BFP quickly afterwards you won't have to worry about either you or the baby catching it again. I have a couple of friends who have had it (when NHS was still confirming it by swabs), one quite badly and was ill for a week, but the other much more mildly and was only ill for a couple of days. With luck you'll be in the quickly over it camp.0

Ginvzt, well you suspected as much I know, so I agree with Nicki that it is better to catch it now! Hope you have a short burst of it and then feel better, x
Agutka, that is sad news, I'm so sorry, x
Dizziblonde, oh don't we all know someone like that! It is hard to take, but what can we do? Nothing really, so try not to let the stress invade too far, x0 -
Ha-Ha! You thought you could hide from me when I take a day off - but I found you again! (only joking!).
In fact, I guess it is time to leave you, for now, but I will continue to read and pop in with updates from time to time....
After the scan yesterday at 6+3, I can confirm that we are definitely 'on the boat for Australia' - it has left the harbour and started on it's journey, so hopefully there will be no technical problems this time, and we won't have to turn around and come back again!
We saw the heart beating! It was so weird and so amazing! (I cried and DH was damp-eyed too!). Apparantly it is all 'normal for this stage'....as always of course with us though, there is a BUT - they can't find for definite where the other emby has gone. There is a shadow which 'might' be it, but the nurse was not sure it that was it or just a fluid area. She did check the tubes as far as she can see, and thankfully didn't find anything there (but then again, they didn't find it there the last time either!).
Due to the ectopic risk they want to have me back in again next week for another look (yippee - another scan!) to make double-sure. As I understand it the hope is that the shadow will have gone, and that it will therefore have been the other emby being re-absorbed.
I went to the Early PG Clinic session this morning - it was chaos! They are being moved as the centre they are in is being turned into 'swine-flu HQ' for our area - Told you nothing every runs smoothly where I am concerned didn't I?!?!?!?! Filled in the prelim details (on plain paper, as the forms have been packed away!) and now await an NHS scan date for 10-12wks. Have a 1st booking appt for 10th Aug, when I will be 10 wks. I felt really old! All the other new-mums-to-be looked so young!
Still can't believe this is all really happening!
I wish all you lovely ladies all the luck in the world on your continuing TTC journeys, and hope to meet up with you again when we all finally get to Australia!
((((ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF HUGS))))

A potted history of our TTC journey, for any newbies to this thread.
Me 39, DH 48. Started TTC 2004 (at age 34) after DH had a V-Reversal. After 18 months, trying everything non-medical we could think of to help it along, fought GP's for referral to fertility specialist due to my advancing years! Eventually referred but refused help on NHS due to DH having children from a previous marriage. Started private treatment. Discovered I have mild PCOS. Tried Metformin & then Clomid. Discovered DH's SA, previously good after the reversal, now showed antisperm antibodies. Told ICSI would be 'the only way'.
2007 #1 ICSI - BFP! - Discovered ectopic at 6+4. Methotrexate injection (eventually after many scans & blood-tests) to terminate.
2008 FET - BFN.
2008 #2 ICSI - BFP! - Miscarried at 6 wks.
2009 #3 ICSI - BFP! - Still keeping everything crossed......

Fantastic news Fairy Elephant!
It's so amazing to see that little heartbeat when you've been through so much to get there. I am so pleased for you, and hope that the coming months go smoothly. They keep changing the degrees of reassurance that they give, but I remember when I got to that stage after my first lot of fertility treatment 10 years ago, the consultant told me that once they had seen a strong heartbeat at 6 weeks, the chances of anything going awry after that point were very small indeed, and that's proved to be the case with me in subsequent pregnancies and everyone else I know.0 -
Hiya all, just got back from our 7 week scan, things are still in the air a little tho! We Deffinatley have one healthy little bean have seen the heart beat and he/she measures 11mm, however there is also another little bean there, but alot smaller and the nurse seems to think it wont be viable. As she isn't 100% we have another scan next friday to try and see whats going on. 2nd bean is only measuring 6.3mm and no heart beat
. The nurse assured me I had done nothing wrong and this wasn't uncommon. Feeling ok about it but would be great if we go back next week and lil bean is ok
Fingers crossed for us ladies.
So FE seems we have similiar situation!
As for breif history here goes...
Been with OH 7 and a bit years and started TTC about 6 years ago.
At 29 started to question why it hadnt happened, had a few tests and couldn't find anything wrong.
Waited another year went back to doc more tests, discovered OH has low motility and morphology, refered for IVF.
May 2009 first round of ICSI, June 25th BFPHow lucky are we 1st time
.
