I tried to negotiate a new deal on Saturday but didn't get anywhere. I am paying £47 for 60 MB BB, M+ TV, Tivo, phone line, anytime 200 minutes and caller ID.

Personally I am getting a bit sick of Virgin Media now. The problem is that their broadband absolutely destroys any of the competition which makes it difficult to switch.

Currently I pay £16 for 30 meg broadband and basic TV package as well as £10 for line rental. This is such a good price that nobody can come close to matching it, even taking the price rise into account.

And now we are being promised another speed upgrade. Although I am pretty sure I haven't actually seen the last speed upgrade yet.

BT customers get free Premier League football. VM customers get a price rise.

I have to say that when we were thinking of moving to Virgin and were looking at the packages, it was indeed more expensive to have the 60Mb BB & TV (M+), than to have the phone line too.

I'll see what happens when I ring them, I'm prepared to ditch the TV (and get a nice Freeview HD box) too if needs be.

EE are offering good deals. Has anyone used them. Thinking of using Freeview and EE. I think broadband is very little.

I got a goodwill u/g to the new Superhub 2 with no imposed lock-in, and I have to say their BB service has no compare. Currently I get a 120Mb service, and the proposed increase will give me 150Mb, a pretty good trade off.

Match that, BT - that's Infinity 2 and beyond!

I now get Netflix on TiVo, and have the base package on phone and TV. My old BT bill (where I used ISDN 2) gave me a 128Kb connection and I paid £40pm plus calls. I'd expect to pay £120pm for what I have now - but I'm half that

    Unhappy? Slightly. Dissatisfied? Definitely not.

As you are on 30Mbps you have either been doubled or started out on an already doubled tier.

Many people were confused by that one as VM were selling new customers or early upgrading existing ones to the new speeds (30/60/100) before existing customers on 10/20/50 got them. Those already on 100 had a price reduction to the 50 tier pricing and all on the top tier are now supposed to be on 120 although I think some still aren't.

VM's habit of announcing upgrades which take a year or maybe two to come to fruition for existing customers become wearisome after a while.

Yes, especially since they tend to throw in a couple of price rises before you see a speed increase.

Really??? How long have you been with them. I think I may quote you on that one when I re-speak to them. Sky have ignored me on all accounts so I don't think they want my custom :p
