Shells sorry to hear you are no better. As you say good you are not going away this week. Hope you managed the toast have plenty fluids.

Had a short phone call from my sister this morning she says she feels a bit brighter but sounds terrible with her breathing. She’s still waiting for a scan. Doctor says there are a lot of people waiting for scans but it seems a long time when its serious. Good thing is they are treating her for a blood clot and infection.

Rose more snow on frozen pavements is very dangerous. Id be staying in for sure. Pleased you are well stocked up. Enjoy your cooking.

Ive been out to buy washing capsules as I had forgotten we had run out. Usually have a store of them but its run down. It was sunny and very mild out and no wind. Wind was strong overnight.

Firefly just been on internet and its saying its Pooh Day today. Saw your signature quote. Do hope you have some news this week.

    Hope everyone keeps safe.

    :hello: Hi everyone

We had more severe gales throughout the night down my
way. Thankfully my gates once again survived. :j It's
such a beautiful sunny day now, the weather is so
    changeable! ssolleil.gif

rose - hope your poorly wrist is feeling a bit better
today. :A Brilliant idea to stock up with provisions especially
if the weather is bad up your way.

Sorry to hear about your sister not being so well leanfun - but
pleased that she was feeling a little better yesterday evening.
Sending big ((hugs)). xx Unfortunately there are so many virus
related illnesses etc doing the rounds of late! I hope there's
also good news re the flu swab & also hope that she doesn't
have a long wait for a scan particularly if her breathing is
laboured. Thankfully though they are treating her for blood
    clot and infection. xxx

Hope the dreaded cold clears up soon for you Sheils xx Must
admit - I've only ever lost my voice once (years ago & cold
related). Found it sooo frustrating - especially as I'm quite a
    chatterbox! :D

Alfie, thanks for the info on the sugar swap :A very interesting. I like cashews and nuts so may swap for that. DD1 wants to do it too except when it's her monthlies as she said she needs her choc then! :D

I had a nice £50 win on a scratch card yesterday right after I decided to open my money saving tin! :p I had £212 in tin though which is more than I thought I had so that was a bonus :)

:T Very well done of your SC win wingo! :T :j :D And the joy
of finding out that you had more than you thought stashed
away! :j:j:j:j You lucky thing! :rotfl::rotfl:

Must admit - Sugar-free February is fast approaching now.
Thankfully it's only 28 day to get through. I know I can do it ....
just hope my willpower holds! Had quite a giggle on the
Betty thread this morning - this was me urging B*C to stay
    strong :p ......

    Winnie the Pooh Day

    poohbear.jpg

One of the cuddliest holidays around has to be Winnie the Pooh
Day, celebrated on the birthday of author A A Milne. It’s one
special anniversary fans just can’t bear to miss! Every year, the
occasion is marked with events such as teddy bears’ picnics,
featuring plenty of honey on the menu.

Winnie the Pooh first appeared on the printed page in 1926,
together with friends Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore. All of them were
based on toys owned by the author’s son, who also featured in the
famous stories as Christopher Robin. The character later starred in
a series of much-loved Disney films. One extra-special way to
mark the day is to visit Pooh Corner in Hartfield, East Sussex,
where the books were written. You can pick up a map to follow in
the characters’ footsteps, and even play a game of Poohsticks on
    the original bridge.

Evening peeps. DS dropped in earlier to pick up fish pie and lasagne. He brought me half a box of white and half a box of smoked haddock and ten packs of smoked back bacon. He would not take money for it as I am always cooking for him. A collegue at work gets it for them from a couple of markets in Glasow. He also gave me a list of other thing he can get so will have a study later. He also got a load of smoked sausage so have a couple in fridge. Had to re-organise freezer to fit it all in. Hope everyone is staying warm and those with coughs and sneezes are feeling a bit better. Have a nice evening folks.

Morning folks. Very cold here again. More of the white stuff has fallen overnight. DS is only going in to work for a short time today but I am on standby in case he is held up with traffic to pick kids up from school. So may have to go out in the afternoon. It took him nearly four hours to get home on Tuesday when we first had snow. Traffic was ok on motorway but the minute he left it he was held up. Traffic here on Tuesday afternoon was horrendous it was nearly at a standstill when I was out in the afternoon. I actually thought there had been a serious accident further along the road because of the way it was crawling along. Got a bit of a sore throat and a cough this morning but apart from that feel ok. Going to run over to chemist later to get some lozenges. Shiels hope your cold is getting a bit better and not hindering you too much. I hope I find everyone else fit and healthy. Take care peeps and be lucky.

    :hello: Good morning everyone

Hope you're all ok especially those with coughs, sneezes
etc. Do hope you're feeling a little better today. xx

    smileys-ill-412985.gif

How's your sister leanfun? ((Hugs)) xx

It looks as if we're in for a decent weather day today down
my way - plenty of sunshine but a tad chilly!

Brilliant to receive all the food goodies from your son
yesterday rose. :T Wonderful gesture from him for
    everything you do. :A xx

Has anyone heard of the following creature? Must admit - I
thought it was a joke to begin with but it really does exist!!!

Wild & Weird: The Trumpapillar :eek:

    8e00f8fd7dc84babacc978533ae83ee7.jpg

The flannel moth caterpillar (Megalopyge opercularis) looks so
much like Donald Trump's coif scuttling across the forest floor that
researchers have dubbed it "the Trumpapillar." Found from Florida
to Peru, the moth larva is kind of cute -- in a roguish, runaway-
hairpiece kind of way -- but also extremely dangerous.

The hairs of the Trumpapillar contain venomous spines that can, if
touched by humans, cause the following reactions: severe
radiating pain, swelling, nausea, headache, abdominal distress,
rashes, blisters, chest pain, numbness and difficulty breathing.

Check out our new video on Facebook or YouTube of this hairy
    doppelgänger.

Lol at the video! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Feel so sorry for the look-alike caterpillar! Think it's rather
gorgeous ..... would definitely keep my distance though! :p

Have a lovely, lucky and safe day all - take care.

Just been outside for a short while. Retrieved snow shovel out of shed and cleared paths in courtyard and put down some salt. I am now cuddling a hot water bottle and sitting with back on radiator trying to warm myself up lol.

Thanks everyone. Good news my sister had a CT scan at five yesterday afternoon and eventually the results came through that she does not have a pulmonary embolism. We are all so relieved. She has sent a message that she is not wheezing this morning so the intravenous antibiotics must be working. Just thankful we still have the NHS even with all its problems. My sister is a nurse and not on a high salary to be able to pay.

Rose sounds really bad your way do take care. Hope you have warmed up now. Its sunny and calm here now.

Shells hope you are a bit better and DH and DS do not catch it.

Alfie was mild out in garden yesterday here but very wet.

Well night before last the big Christmas tree was lying flat on the narrow path between the side of the house and the garden wall. The top was facing towards the garden when I looked out yesterday morning it was facing the other way blocking the kitchen door. No one had moved it. The wind had been so strong to blow it over. DD1 and I had struggled to carry it out of the house. Yesterday DH was looking for garden tools to cut it up to take to recycling but couldn’t find them so a job for today.

Hope everyone keeps safe and warm.

    Morning all,

Had a fairly bad night from about 3am to 6am - just coughing and spluttering the whole time. DH gave up and slept downstairs especially as he isn't feeling too great either. Think it was actually DS3 who gave us this. I am feeling a little better now I am up and managed to eat half a bowl of porridge.
Glad your sister is feeling a bit better leanfun and hope your cough doesn't get worse rose.

    Love the caterpillar Alfie!

Evening ff hope you are feeling a bit better after your shower and meal. Had a busy afternoon. Ds was crawling along at a snails pace on the motorway so went and picked up GK's from school. Settled them down with some warm soup when GS said his other gran was outside (he could see her through french doors) then he said his great gran was there as well. So toddled out to help great gran in. His gran was taking her home and could not see the road very well as snow was so heavy so they stopped here. They were settled down with some soup as well lol. 15 minutes later in came DS so he settled down with a plate of soup which turned into two. Took an apple tart out of the freezer and stuck it in the oven and we all had that with cream and ice cream. Once everyone had departed stuck dishes in D/Washer which is not used that often nowadays and sat down with a cuppa. Throat is getting sorer so hope I have not passed anything on. Cough is really annoying me. So just gonna play catch up on comps.
