Why is dealer being awkward about vehicle collection?

Probably wants to sell you some tyre insurance or other products which will give them high commissions.0

As above. He wants to be the one flogging you GAP insurance, ceramic paint protection coating, chip insurance etc, because their profit on these is usually more than on the car.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

he will only get commission if he gets a good customer satisfaction survey. Maybe if he is not present to hand over then a big part of the survey will not relate to him and so he will not get paid.
Why don't you ask him and try to come to a satisfactory arrangement for both of you?

this happened to me when collecting my Tiguan waited 7 months for delivery and sales person wanted me to wait another week after car coming in has he was on a training course I said no way after waiting 7 months for delivery in the end he got another sales person to do the handover its your car do what you want0

He wont be trying to sell GAP on the day you collect the car, this would be illegal.
I know that the dealers are no longer allowed to sell GAP insurance as a package with the car on the same day that the vehicle is purchased but I've not heard anything about not being allowed to sell it when the vehicle is collected.0 -
