There seems to be an awful lot of personal information flying about this thread...for people trying to get into the police.0

I still havent heard anything, going to call grafton on Monday.
I was however talking to a friend who currently works for the psni in training the new admin staff, she says there ended up being only 10 positions available all of which were located in Londonderry! There were 3 letters gone out, yes u've got the job, no your havent and finally ur on the reserve list for x amount of time.
Even if I did get the job I would have been turning it down as she says you could be waiting months on a transfer back to belfast area.:j Norn Iron Club Member No. 343 :j0 -

What a lot of time, effort and expense for the sake of ten admin jobs...0 -
Hey All !
I applied for this post too. Received the letter at the end of march from PSNI External Appointments saying that they had received my application from Grafton and it was being processed through to the final stages. They said CTC clearance would take up to 12 weeks.
Me being impatient, rang the number on the letter a few days later(PSNI External Recruitment). I asked if the merit list was completed yet and if I could have my merit order number. Turns out I'm quite high up on the list. The woman said my CTC form was sent off in the first batch at the end of march. I dont think I'll hear anymore until June at least.
With regard to the so-called 10 positions being offered. Thats not true, I havent heard anything yet and no body else would have either as the first batch of CTC forms are still being processed!
If anyone has got that letter about the final stages, you should ring for your merit order number :-)
Hope u find this post helpful.
When you find out, post your stats:-
Im top 20 - Non RC - Belfast0 -
Hey MissGee im in the same situation as you with the letter, however like a dumb !!! i threw my letter out. Do you have the contact number by any chance that I could ring up in order to find out where I am on the merit list so it would put me out of my misery!!

You should also bear in mind, there was an 'in-house' competition (I think Jan 2010) for 100's of Admin Support Officers, who are also currently in a Merit Pool awaiting available positions, so you may be in for a long wait. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.0
