The Support Team Admin positions for PSNI

I received a letter from the PSNI this morning, saying I had reached the final stage of the recruitment process. It said they now have to complete medical, drugs and security checks and would be in touch in 8-12 weeks!!! :mad::mad:

What the heck?! It's been 3 months since I sat the test. That was for the admin officer, haven't heard about the admin assistant yet so hopefully it'll be a bit further along!

I wonder if the devolution process has held things up?

From my previous experience it looks hopeful for you. When I applied and was turned down initiall as I wasn't "high enough up the merit pool". A few months later I was sent coloured forms for security clearance. I phoned up to be told that the fact they're wanting to progress security clearance I was going to be offered a position providing everything was ok.

I still haven't received word yet :-s. Bettybelle, why do you now have to complete security tests? Did you not fill out vetting forms just before christmas? I had to leave mine up with Grafton the week before christmas and it said then that it would take up to 12 weeks for vetting to be complete which would take us up to round about now....

Elli, if you were getting post today would you have it by now? I have no patience and its worse because I know we should have word at some stage this week, my post wouldnt come until bout 3 or 4 anyway.
At this stage I just want a yes no answer lol!

Don't have it in front of me, but basically what I got was that they are unable to offer me a position at this time, although I did pass all stages, and that they would be back in touch November 2010 with further information... Think I'm basically on a waiting list.

Aw nightmare, thats the letter im kinda expecting to tho, its just gone on so long, but like did they not know that a few months ago!!!
At least the waiting game is over and you can just get on with other stuff, dam my bloody slow postman!!!

Just actually thinking, the letter you got doesn't make sense if you passed all stages, then they send a letter to bettybelle saying they are going to start processing her security etc, all I can think of now thats its basically down to them applying 50/50 and thats how they are trying to get it sorted.
If you don't mind me asking what background are you from, rc, non rc? Im rc, so if you are non rc my theory would make sense. Its completely unfair, the best people on all counts should get the job, regardless.

i had already filled in the security and medical questionnaires just before christmas. i'm rc... well rc when it suits for the job i suppose!

am totally gutted, but just telling myself at least i have a job right now, would be different if i wasn't working atm.

just got bits of the letter from oh, is it basically saying nothing suitable at the minute, but you're on a waiting list, or what exactly are they contacting us in november for?

Hi guys..first of all, sorry you got bad news..

Sivo, I gave in my security forms in Dec too, gonna email them to get something in writing as unsure why they're mentioning it again, I can understand the medical tests etc. Unless the security hasn't been done yet and Grafton just collected the forms for them until they were ready to process?

I'm confused so will email and find out!
