Why do these people waste time? Why run all those tests last yr for ASOs if they were planning to do an in-house one in Jan?!
I'm glad I went for both now, might be lucky enough to get ASA at least:o0 -
I don't think much of so-called positive discrimination - it stinks!
That's interesting that there are no interviews. I might actually get a job after all as I tend to talk a big load of sh*t when I'm nervous therefore fail interviews a lot:o
But do you not understand the reasoning behind it?0 -

There is good reasoning but lets face reality. We may be trying to balance our religions but what does that mean? Of those I know in the force, not a single one is religious. It means nothing to them. Many, protestant or catholic, have absolutely no connection to their supposed religions. There is no difference between then except for the box they are forced to tick. They live in the same areas, they do the same things, they have the same friends... so why are we then going backwards and forcing people to be in one group or another.
The goal has been achieved so it is time that we got on with things and stopped discriminating (at all!!) on the basis of this, frequently, meaningless 'box'.Always overestimating...0 -

Not at all lol. I do have Catholic relatives who have joined the PSNI and I am extremly proud of themIt's a sought after job from all sides from what I gather. Isn't there something like ten times the applications than there are jobs each year?
