Democracy.

I like that you understand that Britain is entering a Dramatic change with Europe.
You are AGAIN perfectly correct that the number of EU citizens who work in Britain will drop dramatically. However are you clear who those will be. Pea pickers or heart surgeons. Cleaners or Nurses???
Do you REALLY want to address the Spanish property market! How can a 30% drop on a 90% drop have ANY meaning.
Remainiac denial, wow what ever does that mean.
I am very sorry if my reply is difficult to understand.
Merely putting forward the truth, perhaps an inconvenient truth for you that acts of democracy change things. Your riposte to that (your link) seems to suggest that only applies when your particular point of view is upheld by a popular vote. That ain' t democracy my friend, or the type of democracy that your former nation recogonises anyway.
I only mentioned the changing behaviour toward Spanish property by Brits to illustrate my point that things will indeed change as result of Brexit, this includes the staffing of the NHS.
Your new bitterness toward the UK is perfectly understandable, your world view has been trashed by people who you deign as inferior to you.
That's democracy for you and its a beautfiul thing!“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
Ohhhh dear, I have already said enough here and on various threads in Discussion Time. However...
I have lived here for over 30 years, but I've been planning to move back to Italy (the Riviera) in any case, even before Brexit was a possibility. The reasons are varied but nothing to do with being unhappy here, where I have many wonderful friends and associates.
Several EU nationals I have spoken to will go back to their own countries, their professions being varied: a hairdresser, a biochemist working for a pharmaceutical company, two working in IT and one in specialised radiotherapy nursing. Several others from the same or other professions, are waiting to see how it pans out, so it's a bit of a mixture of feelings as one would expect.
From a purely personal point of view, Brexit doesn't worry me. What gets me is the amount misinformation regarding the EU that keeps doing the rounds in Britain, as if repeating it often enough makes it true. I'm done debating that one, LOL, and will just watch on the sidelines, with perhaps some bland remark (well, sort of) now and then.
Another one on here that's off home!
Try not to panic everyone!“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Quasar, you obviously need some induction to this sub-forum.
On here, EU nationals are washing cars, picking strawberries or selling the Big Issue.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

As a Brit living in Greece, I've no plans to go anywhere.
I am disgusted by the way Juncker and co are behaving over the issue of expatriates. This is something that could have been sorted out in minutes yet he has to try to be smart and make it all sound so complicated. He really needs to cut down on his alcohol intake.0 -

Ahh I read this forum a lot.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

So we can see.
Out of interest Quasar, what do you think of Alitalia going into administration today when Carlo Calenda said on Sunday that it would lead to a great shock for the Italian economy?
Also, how do you view the rising popularity of the anti-EU M5S in light of your opinions of British anti-EU sentiment?0 -
just like Conservative MP who bought their election wins.
You accidentally added the word "Conservative" into that sentence. All MPs who have the opportunity, buy election wins. These are MPs we're talking about.
In the case of Nulabor it was done by splurging hundreds of billions on expanding the welfare state & increasing public sector jobs, especially in the north. Vote buying pure & simple.0 -
Theresa May says she will be a "bloody difficult woman" towards European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker during Brexit talks.

I don't know. I'm torn between the choice of May being bloody difficult and putting a few noses out of joint, or Jezza.
It really is a dilemma...0
