I don't imagine TalkRadio think they are influencing EU heads of state. But if you're PM of a country which relies heavily on exports to the UK a I can't imagine you'd be too happy with Juncker right now.

If it matters I live in Yorkshire.

    So fill out your profile.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Perfectly correct, But Don't dismiss the hardening of the heart AGAINST Britain by the electorate of the 27.
No one like a arrogant wealthy neighbour who throws their weight around.

I know the EU are hardening their stance and coming together, as witness the paltry 15 minutes it took the 27, a few days ago, to sign that Brexit document. You living on the continent, and myself being one of the EU nationals you mention at the end of your earlier post, we both get to see how the two sides are really taking position.

Saying that, it is in everyone's interest that the two sides cooperate, and the latest message of "goodwill" from Mrs May does offer some hope. Until after the election however, all we can expect to see is more posturing here, and there.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

You don't need to be Einstein to work that one out!
The British people voted for a dramatic change in the UK's politcal relationship with the rest of Europe. An obvious upshot of that will be a sizable drop in the amount oF EU citizens opting to live and work in the UK. Another consequence is a reported 30% drop in UK citizens looking to buy property in Spain.
Democracy changes things, you seem to be ingnorant of that fact or perhaps are in the midst of a bout of Remainiac denial.
    There`s a lot of it about. :)

    Democracy.

I like that you understand that Britain is entering a Dramatic change with Europe.
You are AGAIN perfectly correct that the number of EU citizens who work in Britain will drop dramatically. However are you clear who those will be. Pea pickers or heart surgeons. Cleaners or Nurses???
Do you REALLY want to address the Spanish property market! How can a 30% drop on a 90% drop have ANY meaning.
Remainiac denial, wow what ever does that mean.
I am very sorry if my reply is difficult to understand.

    Hello Quasar,
Welcome to the debate. As a member of the 27 you should have a lot to say in this thread.
You are an EU national working in the U.K...correct?
So you know how frightening it is to have an uncertain future. You know more than almost ALL of us what it feels like.
Your story is important to help us all to understand what Brexit will mean.
    Tell us your story.
I feel very alone on this thread trying to tell how it feels to be a "foreigner"

I think that PM May is quite relaxed. You may be right. She does have that twitch!

Ohhhh dear, I have already said enough here and on various threads in Discussion Time. However...

I have lived here for over 30 years, but I've been planning to move back to Italy (the Riviera) in any case, even before Brexit was a possibility. The reasons are varied but nothing to do with being unhappy here, where I have many wonderful friends and associates.

Several EU nationals I have spoken to will go back to their own countries, their professions being varied: a hairdresser, a biochemist working for a pharmaceutical company, two working in IT and one in specialised radiotherapy nursing. Several others from the same or other professions, are waiting to see how it pans out, so it's a bit of a mixture of feelings as one would expect.

From a purely personal point of view, Brexit doesn't worry me. What gets me is the amount misinformation regarding the EU that keeps doing the rounds in Britain, as if repeating it often enough makes it true. I'm done debating that one, LOL, and will just watch on the sidelines, with perhaps some bland remark (well, sort of) now and then. :p
