I want weeds in my garden !!!!!
Last year when visiting my friend in Devon I noticed a very rampant, pink flowered plant in her garden. I wanted to dig some up and bring it home with me but her neighbour warned me over the fence that it was actually a weed and I shouldn't introduce it to my garden as it would take over (he didn't mention the name of this…

eek! my leeks are bolting
I just noticed that some of my leeks are running to seed. I wondered if it's because we had a hot April and very cold summer and now it's warm again - do they think they've had winter and now it's spring? can I still eat them? It's a shame as they're only as thick as my thumb maybe, I was hoping for more. I heard on…

Have you done it yet?
Have you done it yet?, you know that job which you keep putting off. Mine was the area behind the shed, the area you can't see and because of that, things get dumped there. Promises promises to get on and tidy it up fell in vain, but last night I decided to syke myself up and I mentally prepared myself. With my old garden…

I've been told that Ash is the best for firewood coppicing, but I'd also like some variety for fencing, tools etc. Can anyone suggest a good combination of trees for a native coppice? I like the idea of…

Are tulips 1 year wonders?
I'm a novice gardener. I dreamed of creating a huge boarder or peony tulips, but upon researching, I read that the flower well the first year, then 50% in year 2 and then nothing in year 3. Is this really true? I don't want to spend a fortune on bulbs that will only last a year :(

Does anyone have any non-weedkiller…

hydrangea
Just bought a lovely blue Hydrangea in flower from Lidl £3.99. BUT it says put in garden AFTER flowering, so it must be an indoor one. I wanted it for the garden now, can I put it outside while it is still flowering? Also, because it needs an acid soil, it will have to be in a pot, does it have to have pure lime…
