@mehefin and @vulpix thanks for the Mini advice. Its due an MOT in April so will see what happens between now and then. It’s frustrating that I get an error message but the garage cant tell what is causing it because the error message is too vague. In the meantime I have started using super diesel and driving hard on the motorway.

Bird food and dog biscuits have left the house 🙂 bird food via free FB page and biscuits to the pet food bank. Unfortunately I left the human food for the food bank by the front door so I'll drop that off in the morning

@BlueJ94 well done , that's amazing improvement in a short time.
No decluttering except £ for little cat's blood test ( 4 bus journeys taking her and picking her up) , ordered b-day cake for a friend tomorrow. Can't believe so many cake shops as if people don't bake now ... ( my excuse is don't have a working oven) although they did in lock down. Also dropped off parcel and work in between.

Decluttered 2 bags full to the CS.
Decluttered weeds from between slabs by front step.
I confess to buying a beautiful big picture in the CS. Going to hang it centrally on the wall behind the bed. It was professionally mounted by a local studio, struck me as soon as I saw it and DH likes it too.
Tomorrow will see more laundry being done, I “Vanished” a batch of grubby looking tea towels yesterday so have found things to make a decent load in the machine.
Dinner from freezer.
Weather was positively spring like today, lovely.Sleep tight all xx

@Florenceem IKEA furniture has clear pictorial instructions which are quite easy to follow. If the items are tall, it can be a 2-person job to build them.

Tuesday has been a duller day than yesterday with a forecast high of 14°C (feeling just 1° cooler due to a slight NE wind) & a low of 6°C. I have stripped & remade our bed but will start the laundry tomorrow. DH made a soup today & then spent a couple of hours tidying the garage & working on the motorbike. Cleared down a few more programmes from the planner. Ordered in - pizza. Wudupa.

GrannyKate, actually speaking to a person when you phone your bank is such a joy 😊 I have been telephone banking for 35 years & have resisted all blandishments to move to internet banking 😉 Plasterer & joiner visiting at the same time …… wow 🤩 Great work mowing the lawn 👏 & fingers crossed that DS2 has your strimmer & you haven’t decluttered it 🤞 Good luck meeting your grocery target 🍀 Great decluttering of tasks 👏
Florenceem, another successful visit from DGS J ☺️ He is a wonderful young man 🥹 You have both worked hard & I hope that you had a successful shopping trip 🤞
vulpix, that is the problem with cars nowadays - too many electronic parts replacing mechanical parts 😞 Your comment “Decorating is so much more than decorating” is definitely the reason DH & I are always loathe to start decorating 😉 combined with sheer laziness on our part 🙊 Yikes to having to dismantle & declutter the wardrobe 😧 Good luck keeping the cat out of your bedroom once the decorating is completed 🍀 Fingers crossed that the Edwardian door can be repurposed 🤞
Pennypincin, excellent decluttering of both stationery items & microwave containers👏
GrannyKate, pleased to hear that your meeting was attended & went well 😊 Good work with the errands 👏 Lovely hearing about Sox jumping in & out of windows 😅 Good results with the bedroom chair 👏
Great work in the Room of Doom, BlueJ94 👏 Very impressed that you made such a difference in just 48 minutes 🤩
Yorkie1, those storage containers look very useful 👏
Nice to meet you Dakota_Rose 👋 Looking forward to ‘seeing’ a bit more of you ☺️
Florenceem, one in, one out 👏 Fingers crossed that the gas men work quickly & don’t cause too much disruption 🤞 I did smile at This “I have decided that I won’t buy curtains to dress the window in my bedroom - I am having a roan blind…….. buy some velvet fabric so I can sew some. Then I won’t be breaking a lifetime of never having bought curtains. 🙂 very impressive 🥹
Green_hopeful, hopefully your car will respond well to its new fuel & hard motorway driving 🙏
Great decluttering Brambling 👏 Hopefully the weather will be dry for dropping off the forgotten bag of human food 🤞😉
TC77, hope little cat is OK 🙏 Happy birthday to your friend 🎂 🥳
Excellent decluttering suzeesu2000 👏 Really no need to “confess” to a purchase made in a CS 😉 Any chance of a photo of said picture 🙏
Floss, thanks for the information about IKEA furniture 👏
Hope everyone had as good a day as possible 😊 Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, sorry it's been about 2 weeks since I have posted and I have just been plodding along, some things have been done but not enough 😁. Various parts of the kitchen have been sorted but no news from the builder yet. Thank goodness February has gone and we are starting to get occasional rainless days. I have had a couple of sessions in the garden now the collection of the garden waste has resumed. On one glorious day I even managed to get 4 LDFPA dried on the line 😁. We had a night out at the Philharmonic to see the fisherman's friends who were great and had everyone singing along. I have had union things and a meeting and various footy games. I have done loads of ironing, a couple of t shirts into the rag bag and a couple into the cs bag, some clothes put aside to try on, mugs given to A for her church project, a tip run, a couple of medical appointments and some knitting. The winter Olympics finished but the Paralympics are starting this weekend so no doubt I will be watching them as relief from the dire situation in the middle east. I have some strong opinions on that but probably shouldn't post them here 🤔. Suffice to say I am in despair of the stupidity of some politicians and feeling sorrow for the loss of life their stupidity will cause 😢.
I am sorry I haven't caught up with all the posts but will try to today. I hope everyone is well and cracking along 😁. I am out later to meet up with some ex colleagues for a coffee but hope to get a few things done before I go out.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
I won't bore you with my list but just add 57 to my numbers 😁
Take care everyone

Florenceem, the whole of our upstairs looks very similar to BlueJ's before photo. You are very brave making roman blinds with velvet.I love the stuff but it moves of it's own accord.😂 I think Ikea stuff is relatively easy to assemble, they come with good instructions.
Mrs SD, as usual I didn't explain myself very well, It was just the carpet we had to wresstle to the tip. It would have finished me off to take the full fitted wardrobes out.
Nice to see you Liverpool Anne, ditto with your views. I imagine most sane people will also agree.
The carpenter / joiner, I don't know what to call him,he makes made to measure stuff, came and agreed the door is in good enough condition to re use. He will make a frame for the door and there is also a UPVC framed window at the side for which we will need to get a new one made in timber with new double glazed unit. He is right in saying that as the door has leaded glass the window needs leaded glass to match. The door needs some alteration as it will open the opposite way to it's previous life.He says the current UVPC door has warped as it is quite old and has been South facing for many years. I remember when I was a kid seeing front doors with curtains over when it was hot. Made from deck chair type material. I don't know if they were protecting the door or keeping the sun out whilst the door was open.
I bought the oak door years ago on ebay for next to nothing and I have been waiting to fit it in the right house ever since. We went to collect it from a beautiful Arts and Crafts house in Epping Forest. It wouldn't fit in the car.We had to drive all the way home with it sticking out the back of the car with the open door alarm going off every second.Good job we like loud music.
There is a bag somewhere with bits that came off the door. It is Mr V's job to trawl through the sheds to find it. If he has a tidy up he might be able to fit a mini green house in a shed, not assembled! It will be nice to get rid of the door and the green house box out of the dining room. There is still a forest of curtain poles in there behind a chair! and a fire surround propped up in front of the existing surround. We have no clue where anything is in the sheds since the house move. Tbh it has just been too wet to sort it all out. Tada, he has found the bag of gubbins. I don't know if it will be helpful to the joiner but he said it might be.
J the builder wants to start the front garden on odd days when he is free. I still need to design it! A lovely problem to have.
I need to get on and not waste this lovely day.
Take care all Vx

@vulpix we had a Upvc door in our old house. It was badly warped to we replaced it (turned out it had been bodged when it went in). The next one was properly fitted and it was no better than the old one because plastic moves so much when it gets hot. My old house has a beautiful oak front door which the new owners have painted black. I hate to think what that does to a south facing door. When we had the heatwave a few years ago, i hung a white sheet in front of our porch to keep the sun off the door and then worked in the darkened hall.

vulpix - I am not making the roman blind - I am buying it. I am getting velvet to make curtains to frame the blind.
Green_hopeful - I have a wooden front door inside the UPVC porch. It was always just the original brown colour but I had it painted white when the house was changed from a dark living space with brown skirting etc to a bright white space. I have bought F & B Bisque for the front door - that won't be painted until after the house is decorated.
The gas men are right outside my house now so lots of noise.
J asked me if the old office is next to paint - no - that is going to be where I put stuff from my craft room while the room is gutted.
J arrived at 9 and painted the cloakroom door in half an hour - just the inside as the outside will be done when he decorates the hall.
I have finished cleaning all the kitchen cupboard doors. I am now cleaning out a cupboard - shows how long since it was done - found a bottle of alcohol in there! When I have finished that cupboard I will do the narrow one by the dishwasher.
I phoned the bed company to ask about delivery of my headboard - be Wednesday or Thursday next week.
I have decided not to attend SA lunch club today - I have been there on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.
