Wednesday continued: the soup DH made is quite spicy so I resorted to adding a spoonful of crème fraiche to tone it down a little. I have taken a few more balls of wool from my stash in the bedroom & will resume knitting . The 2nd load of washing is out on the whirligig & the 3rd load is in the wm. Cleared more programmes from planner & cast on stitches for another hat. The washing is in off the whirligig but is only slightly dry so will use the td. I topped up the soup with some new potatoes, the last of the beef in chunks & 300ml of beef gravy made from granules. More programmes cleared from planner. Dinner was sausages, mash & baked beans for DH & DSis whilst I had lo bacon & pea linguine. 3 loads LDFPA. Two loads left to do. Wudupa.

Great decluttering Willowtree222 👏 & great work blitzing the bathroom 👏
BlueJ94, how lovely that your OH did 3 loads of washing 😊
Willowtree222, great unplanned decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏
suzeesu2000, lovely picture - I would have bought it as well 😊 Sorry to hear about your mum 😔 I will keep everything crossed that a place in the nursing home close to family becomes available 🤞
surprisinglynice, remember decluttering one or two things at a time soon mounts up 👏 When I read This “I have grandish plans but no motivation” I thought you had read my mind 😉 I wish you luck in finding your ‘forever dining table’ 🍀 I was fortunate enough to buy mine (a G Plan extendable table) in the early 1980’s. I had it for about 6 years, then it spent about 25 years in France & has been back with me since 2018 ☺️ Sadly the chairs are long gone 😞
Florenceem, looking forward to seeing a photo of your picture 😊 Fingers crossed that your bins are emptied this week 🤞
BlueJ94, yikes to having to declutter bottles of doggy shampoo 😱
Yorkie1, I like the sound of your front door 😊
Brambling, great decluttering in your friends house 👏 & well done on being inspired to sort out your larder cupboard 👏
Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, not much done yesterday, a dead plant into the green waste bin and the lr bin emptied but I had a lovely time with ex colleagues, home in time for a late tea. OH was out for tea so I had control of the remote and watched an interesting thing about Barts hospital and did some knitting. I have caught up with all the posts 😁.
I am still having problems with posting, lost this post a couple of times and the curser keeps jumping around so keeping it as short as I can 😁
@Florenceem as others have said ikea furniture is easy, just make sure you have enough working space and read the instructions before you start 😁
@suzeesu2000 so sorry to hear about your mum. I would try a lavender by the front door, they love the sun 😁.
@Mrs SD my team have been very unpredictable 😂. Lovely hats 😁
Some very nice photos of chairs etc
Right time for another cuppa and see what I can do today 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one
293 dead plant
294 lr bin
Take care

Liverpool_Anne - back in the 1970s Mr F went to Christian fellowship at Barts hospital.
I went to bed around the usual time but was up a lot to visit the bathroom. I suppose my mind knew that J wasn't coming here this morning because I laid in.
Gas men are digging right outside my house - it feels like the house is vibrating.
Nothing from the council about the bins - I will ring them.
Going to empty out the awkward cupboard after another cup of tea.
I got a tub of HM liver & bacon casserole out of the freezer for my dinner today.
My picture is by Sir David Wilkie - I chose it and then found out the name - The Blind Fiddler - I had a blind uncle. Picture was professionally framed by Chas H West in London.
I thought it was apt as 6 children in the picture..

Our bedroom has now had 3 coats of white emulsion and white gloss and it still hasn't covered the grey. The whole room was grey, including the ceiling. I need to get on and paint our bedroom furniture. Lovely cleaning lady is emulsioning the bedroom. Carpet coming Tuesday. The walls have had a coat of cream paint. Looks more like custard to me! I will see if I can get on with it.
Mr V made some interesting discoveries in the shed. The missing brackets for the curtain poles, some Christmas decorations, loads of decorating stuff and paint which I had forgotten about and have bought more, the microphone in a glass dome, you get the idea. He did take a car load of stuff to the tip. Not sure what, he just said cables and stuff. There are other sheds to have a look through yet. He also took some of the previous owners broken garden stuff to the tip.
I will post some pics soon. The front bedroom and our bedroom when it's done. Also the requested Dennis the menace jumpers and the front door. Lovely jug and pictures. Thank you,I enjoy everyone's photos. Can I request a door pic Yorkie1 and an old English sheepdog pic please?
I have never said but I volunteer in a charity shop. Manageress' sister has had a baby so used up 3 balls of wool on a baby blanket for her.
I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with the state of the house. I will see if I can tidy up a bit this afternoon. Also need to visit my Mum and make a start on painting our bed room furniture. I confess to buying a couple of Spring tops and an old scent atomiser from the chazzer. I have a pile of stuff on the dining table waiting to go to the charity shop but I am waiting as I am sure there will be more when I put the house back together.

Got the OH to help with the the accumulated garbage around the house. How does he not see it?? I said "can you take out the garbage that is in the dining room (strewn about, delivery boxes for shoes he orders etc) and the hall and I'll make a start on the leaves". He takes the hall bin out and then comes and asks what else he needs to do. Ummmm, the dining room dear heart? It's only half way done but has improved so I'll leave it as it is, he's already complaining I've overfilled the bins with leaves and outdoor stuff and that there will be no room for actual garbage when they are collected next Friday. The leaves are brittle and mostly air so will compact down to nearly nothing so I'm not concerned.
And so having filled up the recycling bin to the brim, he has not put it to the curb. I'll remind him at 5 am.

vulpix - I am not letting myself get overwhelmed by the state of my house - I am dependent on carpet layers at the moment.
I have arranged to have my kitchen blind installed on Saturday afternoon.
I did the top shelf in the awkward cupboard and have emptied and cleaned the bottom shelf.
Lovely day here so I got all my refuse stuff out of the garage ready for J to move up the driveway.
I cleaned the outside of the kitchen window then did the UPVC and carried on to the porch.
I have some marks on the UPVC that seem stubborn - ideas please.
Someone has asked for the food storage containers that I put on Freegle..
Just had a snack of cheese, crisps and pickled onions. Then I started to eat something my bestie bought for me. She said as I had gone off chocolate - I needed some really good stuff to get me back into it. Well I am eating a Hotel Chocola. - egg on toast and not impressed - I am so used to normal chocolate - give me Galax. or Cadbur. anytime.

a good reminder of what the charity shops don't want from us and why. all quite sensible really.
UK's most popular charity shop has 12 items it will never accept as donations

Today ended well. Nursing home rang and they are admitting mum tomorrow! So pleased. Looks a nice place and it’s very central for everyone to get to. She will be there while an assessment is done on whether she needs nursing or residential care, I’m thinking it’s got to be nursing as she can no longer use her legs, she can’t stand or weight bearing at all. She’s partially sighted in one eye and blind in the other, totally deaf too. Her quality of life has slipped away. Means we can breathe a little now.
Nothing done today. Still very sore. Did manage to get the picture up this morning, looks lovely.
Have a good night all, sweet dreams xx
