Don't know what's changed, but I'm using Firefox 11.0 and I've also noticed that MSE Forums being very sluggish to browse recently. All other sites are fine, just this one feels bogged down.

Although my computer isn't old, I don't see why people should splash out on a new computer to browse a money saving forum. A bit ironic, no?

New Computer = Faster = More Done in less time

Time = Money

Money Saved

But it was perfectly fine on the old site. Because the site has recently undergone an [strike]upgrade[/strike] downgrade, people suddenly need to spend more to improve their computers? I only built my PC over two years ago. I never dreamt a simple forum could be so tasking on it.: rotfl:

I've looked into things a bit further, and found that my processor isn't loaded any more than a total 50% across either cores. So something appears to be faulty at the hosting end.

I'm going to experiment blocking images now - the site is quite bloated.

Knock Knock!...
Is there anybody there from MSE?

It appears that you have not responded to this or the other thread.

You do seem to have a problem that's beginning to annoy a lot of users - is there any "official" view on the performance of this site and the issues being reported?

Of course (and I can't speak for myself) but I'm sure there's loads of people on the techie forum who can help you with advice to get it sorted if you need help!
Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.

The sites not been optimised for IE9 by the looks of it.

I'm on Firefox and there are no issues here.

How on earth a web browser effect loading times. All dynamic content is created server side. yes ie9 is slower than firefox but by less second on rendering a site

<!--[if lt IE 9]> <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/css/forum_styles/ie.css"> <![endif]-->

thats the style sheet for ie9? look at the source code ok there could
be a massive js file loading but unlikly

Me too - my laptop is less than 1 year old so I'm blowed if I'm going to spend lots more money because one site has changed something behind the scenes.

It is completely unacceptable for every single page to take 10-30 seconds to load. I am not encountering it on any other site I visit and has only been an issue since the 'upgrade'.

Eventually I suspect that I will get so fed up of it that I may just decide to it's not worth even trying to contribute to the site. Hardly good customer service from a site which prides itself on looking after consumers ...

I thought this problem was just happening to me!

Thanks for posting.

PC only 2 years old, running IE9 (compatibility view), Windows 7.

When clicking to MSE, the screen crashes for several seconds before grinding into gear. If using on battery power, the site is even slower.

Wondered whether the problem was an issue relating to o2 - my ISP, and was going to post on their forums.

Don't experience this sort of problem on other sites.

I was in same boat using IE9. Thought it was just me finding this site slow.
Have managed to speed it up by deleting cookies,unless it was just a coincidence that it seems faster after that.
