    Hi all,
I thought I would post my recent experience RE flight prices in case it helps anyone else planning a trip to Vegas.

I tend to go to Vegas in June/July (for the World Series of Poker main event), so I have four years experience of booking flights around the dates 30 June to 14 July for whichever year it is from Manchester.

I have been watching flights for my dates in 2010 like a hawk for the last few months and have done something new this year that I thought I would share.

I was waiting for an American Airlines Sale BUT there doesnt seem to be one for my dates (whereas usually they have already had one by now that covers summer) so I was a bit worried.

I did a search via Travelsupermarket on Friday and a holiday company called HolidayGenie.com were advertising flights at ridiculously low prices for my dates. Dead excited I found that the price was only £855 (FOR TWO :)) including credit card charge for my dates. AMAZING price for the time of year and excellent times and connections with Delta.

As the price seemed TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE I did a quick google search on Holidaygenie and (to my disappointment) there are some scare stories out there! I was really disappointed BUT then remembered that The Flight Centre had told me the previous week that if I saw a flight price via another travel agent they would beat it or I could fly for free - hmmm, interesting I thought.

SO - I did a quick "print screen", emailed my agent at The Flight Centre and lo and behold they have beaten that price (only by £1, but, hey!) and I have a booking with a VERY reputable travel agent. RESULT.

My flight times are ideal and I couldnt be happier. The same flights now would cost at least £970 so I am over the moon.

Please bear this price guarantee from The Flight Center in mind... I havent seen it posted anywhere on here before?

ADDITIONALLY - anyone had any experience of flying with Delta from Manchester with a stop over in Atlanta (three hour outgoing, two hour incoming)?
I already know that the planes we are on DO NOT have seatback IFE but I am not overly bothered.

Hard bit done now - counting the days already!!!
Anyone got anyone first hand experience of those flights?
Sorry for long post - I tend to garble!
    Steff;)

We have been looking to book our flight for next years trip, and as our daughter is coming with us we need it to be in the summer hols.My wife had booked the last two weeks in August for holidays, so when i checked prices flights for the second week in august were coming in at about £680 each. But when i looked at the following week the prices dropped to the low £400 mark.Basically, got the wife to change her time off at work, checked the schools were not going back until after we returned, and then found a great price going on 23 August for 10 nights, staying at Mandalay bay.Flights and hotel worked out at about £650 each,Yes,we have to pay full amount up front, but I don't mind,as I am happy with that price. It just goes to show you should always be a little flexible with dates if atall possible.

Hey well done, Brats64 - lucky you realised the difference in prices. We also postponed our return flight next April by a day as travelling on a Monday was so much cheaper than than on a Sunday that we could afford a night in a hotel (have got Mirage booked at the moment) including free dinner buffet + tix to the Secret Garden and still save money.
So definitely worth playing around with dates and trying to avoid those weekends if you can.

New Restaurant.com code for 70% off is SNOW There are some certificates available now that weren't there when it was 80% off.

Of the r.com vouchers, which restaurants would the forum recommend?

Also, are the tix4 restaurants generally the same list, better or worse?

Far fewer options on tix4dinner - but some cross-over and some at tix4 that aren't on restaurant.com. If you check their website they have at least some of the restaurants they offer.

As for recommendations for restaurant.com - our favorites (most you need a car for)

    Austin's at Texas Station
Sonoma Cellar at Sunset Station (same menu as Austin's - though we prefer Austin's slightly)
Envy at Renaissance (right across from Convention Centre monorail stop)
    Origin India
Ben & Jerry's at Miracle Mile
Original Pancake House (we always go to the one at GVR)
Stripburger (tried it for the first time last trip when Luci mentioned they still had certificates when the 80% off code came out - which was unusual)
Tacone at Miracle Mile was good for a relatively healthy lunch
Blondie's at Miracle Mile is good value with the voucher (we thought it would have been overpriced without)

Somewhere on the thread I think we listed those that are on or very close to the Strip...will see if I can find it.

Here's the one I was thinking of...

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    My thoughts as well:eek:
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
