trets, just to say i agree with what everyone else says
this baby's yours!
as for the sprog business, can't you convince the missus' you're more likely to conceive in Vegas - make up a convincing reason like "the warm weather helps"all the best with it anyways!

October , Novemberi forgot to add, i tried the $20 trick at the Strat. It worked in a round-about way! I got an upgrade, but the fella on the desk (Ron or Roy from San Fran) didn't take the $$$!
That flumoxed me a little and i didn't know what to do so i just stood there for a minute!i didn't try it at the Monte Carlo as i wanted the Celebrity Spa suite.0 -
December ( including Xmas and New Year )• December 11, 2009 Wyrick Gone, Theater Closed: Magician Steve Wyrick, who for almost three years has been struggling to make a success of his eponymous theater and raft of shows in the Miracle Mile, including his own Real Magic and the Platters, Cornell Gunter's Coasters and the Marvelettes has finally called it quits. Contact the point of sale for refunds.
source: LVA research team
A representative for magician Steve Wyrick issued a statement Monday saying the theater that bears his name hasn’t closed and will re-open later this month.
“The theater is temporarily dark,” the statement read. “The unannounced closure was due to unexpected circumstances.”
Wyrick did not take the stage Thursday night at his theater inside Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops. Minutes later the Internet was flooded with reports that employees were sent home and chains were placed on theater doors.
“Our goal and intent is to retain our current staff and continue to provide live entertainment from the Steve Wyrick Theater,” the statement read.0 -

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
January , FebruaryThanks to your advice my 40th is booked in Vegas in January:T As a first timer, I'm really excited now.
As part of the holiday I was thinking of going to GC by hiring a Hummer and sharing the driving rather than by helicopter. This way we have more time and should be a great mini roadtrip. Have any of you done this and have any tips? So far $255 for a Hummer for the day. Thanks in advance...0 -

Does that include insurance? I could be wrong, but I would doubt that it does. Can you take it out of state (which you would if going to the Grand Canyon).
Also, while you can get to the GC in about 5 hours (I assume you're talking south rim) it took us nearly 7 with a couple of stops - that would be a very, very long day if you had to drive back.
If you're talking west rim, it's closer but most normal car rental insurance coverage doesn't cover for the 14-mile or whatever stretch on the dirt road with loads of potholes you'd have to drive to get there - I doubt they would cover it for a luxury-level vehicle.
OK - thinking about it - with the potential for snowfall in January, maybe you WOULD want a Hummer.

January , FebruaryI love this site! Ferf you are spot on as always... You are correct, I checked further, I have to arrange my own insurance on top. I DO have unlimited miles and can travel out of state as long as I tell them in advance. However 'all renters agree the vehicle will not be used for off-roading' which I suppose is a problem for that last 14 miles.
Maybe I'll call them. I really didn't appreciate that it could take 7 hours each way - especially if it snows.....maybe the helicopter is a simpler bet after all.
Many thanks Bardy :beer:0 -
October , NovemberGlad I could help - but in case I've confused matters:
South Rim - took us 7 hours to get there with stops, but could take a lot less
West Rim - takes much less time to get to, but has horrid, long unpaved road as approach...and some argue its not the 'real' grand canyon.
I don't see any problem with driving to the GC - we did it (South Rim) and had a great little trip - but we stayed overnight...and we went in October where there was no chance of snow. I can't remember if it was someone here or Open Vegas who got snowed in at the GC.Its the choice of specific vehicle that's pushing the price up for you - maybe see what it would cost to rent a nice standard rental car?
