October , November*Chants* must not go looking for flights, must not go looking for flights.
TBH if it meant I had to sit on a big fat fella's knee all the way through the flight, I'd do it if it meant I was going to Vegas.....:rotfl:DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

October , NovemberWe've seen all the 'big' shows in Vegas we're interested in - will probably see the Cirque Elvis show eventually once we've read some reviews, etc...so I'm kind of wondering are there any of the sort of mid-range shows that are particularly worthwhile. We've seen Mac King and enjoyed him, same for Lance Burton...loved Penn & Teller. I'm thinking about doing a bit of research on some of the other shows to see what might be interesting for future trips. No interest in V really - not a big fan of the theatre (saw Popovich there) and have seen most of the type of acts that perform.
Anyone been to the comedy clubs? Any other thoughts on anything worth checking out?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
SeptemberHave you seen Human Nature at the IP? We got tickets at VegasTix4Less as T4T didn't have them and it was an excellent show full of energy.
I've read that they have extended their run to 2012 in the past couple of days.0 -
October , NovemberWe enjoyed Nathan Burton's comedy magic show. I don't usually like magic too much, but though he was very good. (It was free for us, but I think tickets are around the $25 mark.0

have you seen Amazing Johnathan @ the Harmon Theatre . Very good when we saw him way back in 2006 at The Sahara . Also we saw a hypnosis show at the Harmon , which was loads of fun , and in the perfect setting in The Harmon .
Jubliee may have lots of topless girls but is a good spectacle and a good show . Mrs Trets loved it .
Defending the Caveman at The Golden Nugget is also well worth checking out IMO . very funny and we both enjoyed it .
the one show we always meant to see but never did was George Wallace. is it really Best 10pm show as all his billboards claim ??Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

January , FebruaryFIRST TIMER TO VEGAS
After reading the posts on this forum, could anyone tell me about VIATOR? I have been to Florida in the past and have had the discount vouchers that you find everywhere. Is it cheaper to get deals over here or wait till I am out there.
I am thinking of going to Cirque Soleil and another show. Anybody any ideas as to which one.
I am staying on East Harmon avenue and do not intend to hire a car so which is the best way to travel around Vegas.
I know this is a long shot, but the OH wants to go and look at motorhomes!!! Any ideas please?
I like to shop but any ideas on good bargain places. Possibly an outlet centre.0 -
SeptemberDefending the Caveman is no longer at the Golden Nugget, it's been at the Excalibur for about a year and mostly afternoon shows with the occasional evening one.0

AugustI've seen bits and pieces of George Wallace and he does seem to be really goodI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

If you're a Beatles fan (and perhaps even if you're not - like me) Love would be my pick...but it's very hard to say - they all have their good points...personally I think Love is the most accessible and in many ways least Cirque-y...perhaps because it's music you recognize. Mystere is a more entry-level Cirque show - we enjoyed it, but the others are on a much different level...well, perhaps except Criss Angel Believe which gets consistently horrible, horrible reviews. My in-laws were blown away by Love...much less so by Mystere but we'd seen Love first, so they were expecting something similar. Be sure to check for discounts at smartervegas.com and https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/lasvegas/en/promotions/index.asp - and Cirque shows are usually shows where being middle/back is better than being close to the stage.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
