We are flying with Delta this next trip.We have only used them once before, and that was Man to Las.We had a divertion as someone had a heart attack onboard.Think it was somewhere like Newfoundland, where we sat on the runway for about 2 hours.Needless to say we missed our connecting flight in Atlanta. When we finally got to Vegas none of our luggage had arrived, so had to go to our hotel with nothing.Cases were delivered about 3 in the morning to our room.Apart from that on the return journey I felt the staff were rather rude.............So why are we flying with them this next trip ? Simple, they were the cheapest flights.
After all, we're all into money saving.Plus hopefully the last time might have been an exception, anyway, I don't know about anyone else, but my Holiday only starts once I'm at my destination, whether a flight is good or bad doesn't matter that much to me, it's just a necessary form of transportation to get me to where I want to be.0 -
AugustI have used US Airways many times and in my opinion found them to be better than both Delta and Virgin. But as I say that's just my opinion, everyone's different.0

AugustBy the way duchy - I know I've asked before BUT if you get any good deals for The Orleans for dates 30/6/10 to 14/7/10 can you please let me know? Thank you in advance...
Was it you who once gave the advice to book the rooms online, then ring up and ask for a poker rate? I cant remember...
Steff
I'll keep an eye out for the Orleans -bit early yet-remind me closer to the time
Probably was me who told you about casino rate there-also now they have their bconnected system online you need to sign up for it-you're likely to get at least a couple of nights comped that way (and of course if you have a Coast card each BOTH sign up so you get two lots of comped nights)
I don't gamble much and have had three lots of 2 night stays comped this year
I was a bit surprised at paying for movies on Delta-I never have but then at least domestically they upgrade me just about every flight as I'm Medallion.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

I've just turned Gold and am around position 30 in the CVG - LAX upgrade queue. My boss is platinum, million miler and gets upgrades about 25% of the time!
Most of the movies you definitely pay. Bloke beside me slid his CC along the bottom of the TV to watch one last week. Can't find anything on the Delta website mind...0 -
August<cough> I'm not a boy (There's a BIG clue in my sig below!
)
I'm currently Gold and find I get upgraded on just about all Delta and most NW flights domestically -even at the last moment last week I missed my LAS JFK flight and was rebooked on the next and even got upgraded on that so you should see an improvement now you are gold. Don't forget to remove your FF number from any bookings made before you went Gold and then put it back in again so it recognizes your new status. I guess flying out of a hub is harder to get upgrades.
I seem to get a lot more upgrades on Delta than I ever got on AA (about 50% but needed stickers)
I've also got an Op-Up from JFK to LHR this year and that never happened in 3 years with AA as a Plat and a Gold.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

AugustDoes anyone know if Ballys or Harrahs have fridges in room the way the Go rooms do please ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

SeptemberOur junior suite in the South Tower didn't have a fridge. Not sure about the North Tower, but ferf will be able to advise you on that.0

I can't be expected to read sigs too. I'm far to lazy!
I did the new status thing already. Flights to Baltimore booked in the new year. But they don't have firstNot sure how much longer CVG will be a hub. They've closed 1/2 the airport compared to what it used to be and cancelling routes left, right and center. Oh well, looks like we'll have to re-locate!

AugustWe stayed at Ballys once, not sure whether it was north or south tower, but the room overlooked the strip.Anyway, to answer your question,No, we didn't have a fridge in the room.0

Wow, haven't posted on here for a while - still been reading it everyday and taking as much in as possible.
Before I forget, Trets, you must keep this thread as your own. You started something pretty special and should keep it going, if you want to.
Anyway, the reason for posting, did anyone see the 'Casino: The True Story' TV programme a few days ago ? The reason I ask, I'm sure one of the actors was the Limo driver from Casa Di Amore restaurant in Vegas - think his nickname is Johnny Mobster (and yes he does look like one). Just wandered if anyone else on here recognised him ??0
