i'll be joining those of you who are indulging in a little tipple later on if that's ok - mine's a pineau from the charente region of france! so here's to you all:D

Hi POPPY[STRIKE]got your pm btw;) [/STRIKE]As a person who's suffered both physical and emotional abuse, i'd say the latter was the worse:opoppyoscar wrote: »Hi all

            Good evening all!
Its been like 60 minute makeover here today, well actually its taken all day, painting room dd1 is moving into, sorting out her stuff and tidying and everything. It does look nice, hope she enjoys it - she's back from her school residential trip to London later, so hopefully she won't be over tired and grumpy, else I shall end up feeling put out that she wasn't appreciative!
Got lots more painting planned for next week, whilst I'm off work, sitting and dining room need redoing, new sofas make them look shabby at the mo, and have promised dd2 and dd3 that I will paint and sort out their room! Not looking forward to that one, cos its a terrible tip!
Not done a lot else, did stop for some nice hm hummous and bread for lunch, really yummy toms too, from Aldi, part of their cheap 6 veg and fruit, but lovely and ripe and tasted of real toms! Got some nice fruit in there too, plums, pineapple and cherries, my fave. really really cheap.
Will be fish and chips at dd1's request to welcome her home, so no cooking as oh will be going to chippy whilst I go and pick her up!
Have a lovely evening all. xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
            Hi everyone
(((hugs))) for those in need and those who want one
Enjoy your G & T JackieO, you deserve it - I may have a small glass of wine, just to be sociable of course
Spent a load in Aldi today getting picnicy things for the journey tomorrow, still not half as much as it would be for 3 of us to eat on the services  I got one of their small gammon joints, have cooked and sliced it, it was £3.99....that would have been about 1 sarnie from the services . Also got some sausage rolls and mini pork pies, have made a lemon drizzle cake and some choc muffins to take too, don't want DD having to think about cooking for us. Told her I was bringing cake but it wouldnt be a choc orange marble cake as cannot make them as good as her!
Am having to send OH to toy r us when he finishes work, good job they are open till 10. Was going to order a baby gym thingy online and have it delivered to DD but first orders have to be sent to cardholders address so that would mean another delivery charge on top.
Tea tonight is something a bit like that Jamie Oliver pasta thing that he does in the advert, but no way does mine cost a fiver :rotfl:Not sure I will be able to eat anyway, I'm all excited about seeing the baby tomorrow, am like a little kid :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good weekend
xxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

I suddenly feel really guilty. Earlier this week I sent a text to an old school mate wishing her luck for her wedding in July and how we'd have to catch up later in the year to look at her photos. Anyway, I came home today to find an invitation to her wedding. It's lovely and we were "best friends" at school, but I can only feel guilty that maybe she thought that I was asking for an invitation (which I wasn't
). It's the week before we go on holiday, so I'll have to see if DH is prepared to go.
At least this week is over. When I lifted my head off the pillow this morning, it felt really heavy and I felt exhausted! Urgh! At least tomorrow I get to have a mini lie-in, before getting up and heading off to near Aylesbury to see a friend who had a baby a couple of months ago. There are 3 of us going to visit her, so it will be lovely to catch up with all of them. I'm sure that the poor baby will be so confused at us 4 talking at high speed!
We STILL haven't had our phone call from Ofsted for the school's "monitoring visit". We think that they'll be in school in the week commencing the 7th July. More waiting! Yuk. All the teachers just want it out of the way NOW, so we can get some mental "rest".
As it's the last Friday of the month, DH has had "Fat Friday" at work. His boss orders in a pizza for everyone and they can also dress down. It's all go! They THEN go to the pub, but obviously DH can only have a soft drink as he has an hours drive back home.
Better go and get my G&T sorted. Supper tonight will be homemade tomato soup.

JackieO -Congratulations! You've had a really tough time, but all through you've shown us a cheerful face and been a real inspiration. Hope you have a great time in Norfolk - one of my favourite places. My glass is raised already as I'll be at choir practice at 8pm, so I'm starting the ball rolling now - CHEERS!!!!!Resolution:
