    Hello again

Well, we have had a busy day in the Booklover household. DS is off on his merry way with his friends and has given me no indication of a time at which I can expect him home. (He knows not to push his luck though so I don't think he will be too late)

DD and I were ladies "wot breakfast" and thoroughly enjoyable it was too. After that we hit the shops and managed to bag ourselves a few bargains. The best one was a Julien MacDonald top that was £18 in Debenhams and reduced to £9 in the sale. DD tried on the age 12 and although it was lovely on her it gaped a little across the bust. So I put it back on the rack and chose an age 13 - which had been further reduced to £5.40! :j So we are both delighted. Managed to get her some t-shirts for holidays too and got the birthday presents for her friend so a successful day all round.

Been busy since I got home too as WM is on, dishes are washed, recycling sorted, living room tidied, shopping put away and worktops cleared. Going to hoover the living room and then spend the afternoon with DD beautifying her for her sleepover. ;)

Betheebee Glad you had such a good time with your DB and nice to see you back in the OS fold. :D
triker hope your day improves - I hate "wasted" days like that.
    kaat lady great veggies. Yummy.
anniestar so sorry that things are so tough for you at the moment. Will light a candle and offer a prayer for you and yours tonight. ((hugs))
Pen-Pin could I have the name of the spot cream too. DS is prone to the odd volcano or two. :o
Snowy enjoy your bottle of red. (no vino smileys unfortunately) I think you deserve it after the week you've had.
rmac don't suppose you have any chamagne to go with those strawberries, do you? ;)
taplady hope you find some time to put your feet up tonight. :D

Have a great afternoon everyone. xx

    Hi all :hello:

I haven't posted on the daily for a while, been here everyday but not really read anything properly. Hope you're all ok.

Things have been a bit rubbish lately but are slowly getting better.

My fruit and veg is doing really well.

I've noticed a weird thing happening lately with my cards (and I've spoken to other people about this too, so it's not just me). People are cutting back generally cos of the fuel and food prices, at the same time they have started to buy local - farm shops, etc. I suppose that having to think about one thing leads to thinking about everything they do and buy. I thought that my sales would drop right down, after all who would buy a handmade card for £1.50/£2 when you can get a ''normal' one for 50p at the market? I dropped my prices a bit, and sales have GONE UP. There seems to be a real sense of supporting local businesses, specially tichy one like mine :D So if you're thinking of starting an OS cottage industry, start it now, just keep your margins low for now and you WILL get sales :D When (if?) things improve, you can put the prices up a bit, you'll have your regular customers by then.

A real quickie because we're sorting out DH's documents for his trip to France - paperwork everywhere as usual and him scratching his head in bewilderment!

Beth - glad you are safely back home. Welcome back.

Well, just looking through the alcohol supply to choose a drop of Vino Collapsio to 'share' with Jackie0 later then back to the paperwork.

    Will catch up later.

    Hi Everyone

All seems a bit brighter in the GB house this afternoon. School is out for summer!!!!!!! That makes us so less busy for the next few weeks. Have come home, kicked off the shoes, and am doing a practice run for 8.00 pm tonight. I just had to make sure the tonic wasn't flat!

DH home on Monday - where has the time gone? Can't believe DGS3 will be one next week - again where has the last year gone? I can't wait to see him showing off his walking skills for Grandad!

You are all such good friends here and I appreciate the hugs, wishes etc you have been sending me. However, my troubles are minor in comparison to some. I feel decidedly brighter tonight.

Not much planned for the weekend. Hair cut tomorrow morning, will put small stuff back into lounge following carpet cleaning and hopefully get the grass cut so DH comes back to a pristine garden. My pots are looking good.

Love and hugs to those going through difficult times with OHs, children, health etc.

Will be back at 8.00 this evening, glass in hand!

    Take care all.
