Good Morning to all you lovely people on here, I would love to take you all out and buy you a drink as a thank you for supporting me though the last year.:A
Well today is the last day of my r/therapy and hopefully by 12.30 I shall be winging my way home , free at last after almost a year from hospitals, doctors ,district nurses and all the machines that I have been subjected to. I can't thank the staff enough at both Maidstone Hospital, and at the Medway Maritime for all their patience in putting up with me They are totally fantastic, and worth ten times what they earn.
As to all the great people on this site who have stuck with me through my ups and downs and another huge thank you:A Fingers crossed apart from a mammogram on the 18th July, and a visit to see the oncologist on the 28th July ,then a last visit on 6 August to Miss Hassenally who was my surgeon last August I am virtually free of all the hospitals at long last .
On the way home from Maidstone this morning I shall drop into my local Adult-education centre and pick up the new directory for the courses to start in September .
I am hoping I can get back on my CCS course at Kent Uni which I had to take a years break from. My life will get back to 'normal' ,well, as normal as I can make it anyway
Tomorrow I am off on a weeks break to Norfolk with my oldest friend. We have a cottage booked on a farm about 10 miles from the sea.We intend to wander around doing gentle walks and quite a bit of relaxing.Maybe the odd libation thrown in at the village hostelry
So life is really looking good for me at the moment I too shall have my G&T at 8.00.p.m.tonight and toast all the wonderful folk who have helped me get through what was a nasty year of my life
Onwards and upwards and I shall keep looking forward to all the good things to come .
    God bless you all:A
    JackieO xx
p.s. My hair is almost long enough to leave off my scarves and hats .I shall take them off at lunchtime after my last lot of zapping:D ;) :j

    Morning everyone

    Thank crunchie it's Friday!

The situation is easing here - OH and I had a long (online) chat last night where he acknowledged what a monster he has been and begged me to stay with him and help him through (we did it once before, but it was nothing like as bad). My head still says no, but my heart is hurting. I have made no promises, but said I will try to help, but any of the abuse I had before and I'm out of there. I have also not said I will go in a month as I am meant to be, as I would be worried to be there, with him as he has been, with me in a foreign place.

Please tell me its not Physical abuse?, Poppy you have to look after yourself, I know its really hard when your head is saying one thing but your heart is saying another but you have to be carefull please please take care of you xx

You beat me to it Redruby - Poppy - referring to Anniestar's post yesterday - this is your life, don't be dragged down by OH. The abuse whether physical or not will erupt again when he feels the same. You cannot change the world for him, and yes you are hurting, but I feel you will hurt over and over again with him. A little brutal I know, but you need to look after YOU!

    Morning all

Rained here overnight, but it's brightening up nicely.

    Well done SuesySue and PenPin's DD:j .

HUGS TO POPPY, DOGROSE, GB, JAYWARD, CANDYGIRL, PENPIN AND ANYONE ELSE I'VE MISSED.

POPPY untreated manic depression is very difficult to live with. Take care of yourself hun x.

JACKIEO will raise a class of wine later. Glad it's nearly over for you:T .

Don't know about anyone else but my hayfever is terrible this year. Usually I have it well-controlled by meds. Plan today to crack on with reading articles this morning and then will go out to the allotment and lidl after lunch when the temptation to fall asleep is huge! OH has promised to take us to the Harvester for tea as a payday treat. I appeared to have paid off a loan a month early, thought it was due to finish at the end of June, so I have another £137 in my bank account, so I'm very pleased :D .

Am investigating at the mo wether it's cheaper to buy myself a small greenhouse or wether I can make my own. Will check out Wickes ect in the next few weeks after this essay is done and see what I can find.

    Have a good day all.

    Hello!

The heat certainly hasn't reached where I live! You could send some over if you like?

Wahey, well done to DS' girlfriend :) That's fantastic news.

Have only been lurking here for a few days so don't know the details, but all the best Jackie - you fully deserve that G+T :)

Dogrose, good luck with phoning the lawyers, hope things improve soon

Poppy - can only send my sympathies. But sometimes you have to put yourself first. Do take care *hugs*

Oooh, Jackie! I now understand about the G+T! All the best for the future :D

Well, I should be getting ready to go to a nearby town to cash cheques and go to the library. I am away at a wedding this weeked (have no idea what it'll be like, as have never been to one), so might do some last minute baking. Might sort my room out a bit more and watch Wimbledon.

    Have a good day x

    Morning Guys!

Jackie0-Enjoy your drink later and congrats for being such a strong and determind lady...we all love you on here! Thanks for your personal advice too.

Twink, Donnygal and Jayward-Sorry I havent been replying much to my MSN messages but just not been up to talking. I will try harder I promise.

DD is off school today, so her and OH have gone up London for the day. I'm here all by myself. Cleaners are here ATM but they will be gone in an hour.

Beds have been stripped and put in the WM. Im going to have to put them in the TD as I cant hang them out by myself:rolleyes: ...shame as its a lovely day.

OH went to Netto yesterday and stocked up on their Sol bottled beers which are normally £1 a bottle. They are doing 24 bottles for £10...so he bought 4 lots:eek:    .....his excuse was that we have alot of friends popping in all the time and a nice cold beer is refreshing:rotfl: ....also, we are planning to have some BBQ's through the summer hols and we can take some away on holiday etc.

I had to get a letter from my GP confirming diagnosis and prognosis for 2 different companies, so that cost me £20, but he has constructed a very good letter for me and is valid for 12 months. I also had to buy DD new powder make-ups (luckily on 3 for 2 and had enough points to cover as they were £6.99 each!) and she also wanted to try that New spot cream advertsised and that was £8.95:eek: ...but she tried last night and it worked almost immediately...amazing!....then she had her hair done last night at £19.50.....and also the air con needed topping up and that was £45...it was a very expensive day yesterday.

Anyway, I am rambling. BTW, my blood count has increased a little so should be able to have my second round next week, so may be away for 2 days again.

Love and hugs to all. I am feeling more positive today...can you tell:D

    Good morning everyone

JackieO You have been an inspiration with the way you have coped over the last year. I'll raise my glass to you tonight. Hope your G&T hits the spot just right. ;)
Donny gal Well done to DS's GF. He has every right to feel proud.
Poppyoscar I would echo the advice given by redruby and donny-gal. You have to put yourself first. By all means help your OH but try to do it at arms length. (((hugs))) and well done on taking the first tentative steps of your new life. Enjoy the jazz festival.
Pen-Pin well done to your DD on the rounders comp. My DD is doing one on Tuesday but I doubt that they will win anything as they really haven't had much practice at all. Still, its the taking part that counts.
anniestar I agree wholeheartedly with your post on "life is not a rehearsal, do it now". Though I think I may pass on buying a goat called King Norman 33rd! :D

(((hugs)))) to everyone who needs one.

DS and DD have an inset day today. Did I get the longed for lie-in? No. DS has made plans to go into town early with his friends and needs me to get him to a bank to lift some money. Grrrrrrrrr.

Change of plans though as I will now drop him in town and DD and I will go to a fantastic little cafe called Brucciani's for breakfast. It's like stepping back in time to the 1940s. The walls are full of photos of old movie stars like Humphrey Bogart, Laurence Olivier, Lauren Bacall, Bing Crosby, etc and the decor matches the period too. I don't think they have ever changed the decor so it's not one of those "faddy" types of places. DD loves it.

After breakfast DD and I will have to find a birthday present for her friend. She is going to a sleepover tonight.

As I only have myself to cook for tonight I will maybe treat myself to a takeaway to go with the little glass of something white. :D

Have a fabulous Friday everyone. xx

Dogrose - good luck; I'm thinking of you.

Poppyoscar - I can only repeat what others have said. It's YOUR life, you only have one, and, as has been witnessed on this thread, we all of us only have a fragile hold on life itself. Please put yourself first, difficult though it must be when your heart is disagreeing with your head; that's an order.

JACKIE0 - here's some more (((hugs))) for you on G&T day!

Morning all, I came on here ages ago but started by catching up on pages of posts from last Wed.

What a sad time lots of you are having, so would like to say
Hi AnnisB, Celyn, Hugs GB, that sounded painfull (your DF)

StudentGirl, We went in that bar for a beer, much needed as it was 39.5 temp.

Tiredmum, you will have fun no matter where, as long as you are all together.

Mioliere, glad you seem to be back to your old self. Close call for DiL's DDad
    Enjoy your time to yourself.

    Hugs Anniestar.

JackiO, Congrats on reaching your final treatment, Cheers to 8pm. and enjoy your holiday.

PenPin, please accept all the help offered. Your F and F are proberbly thinking I wish I could do something so by allowing them to help you will make them feel needed also. IYSWIM. The ones on the sideline feel helpless.

Poppy, Mental abuse is just as unaceptable (and painful) as pysical. You are not a punch bag.

Smokey, Annoying as it is when the Lo's destroy things just think how worried you would be if they retreated into their shells and were quiet and withdrawn. By them being normal rascals goes to prove what a stirling job you are doing. :A
Sorry if I have missed anyone so here's a few spare (((((((((hugs)))))))))

Well, got home from DB's in Spain y/day, We loved every second spent with him. Missing him already. WM and BM on, only 1 wash to do as DB did our laundry, bless him. DH is finishing unpacking.
I left some fruit/veg/salad in a bag to drop off to DD before we flew but forgot it and came home to find a bag of smelly gloop on Kitchen floor
Must go to Morries as the cupboard is empty. Lentil soup simmering, got fish out of freezer for dins.

So pleased to be back in touch with my OS friends xx
