Green & Blacks hot organic hot chocolate. A mix of cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla, cocoa butter, raw cane sugar, etc ... all organic.
Gorgeous. Much less sweet than the Cafedirect chocolate.0 -
My kids love hot chocolate when they come home from school with a homemade biscuit or scone. I spend a fortune on sachets of chocolate for them and am horrified at some of the ingredients that they put into the sachets.
I have got some individual plain chocolate squares that I bought in a large tub from Costco in July. If I boiled some milk and put a few of these squares into the milk, do you think it would be just like hot chocolate or would it taste funny?
Thanks0 -
Yes, it would be fine ... but, I suggest grating the chocolate first
Oh and don't "boil" the milk ... heat it to just below.
Taste, add sugar if needed.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That's REAL hot chocolate!!!! By far the best (although I use milk chocolate 'cos I don't like the bitter stuff (which is supposed to be better for you!).0

I always keep a tin of Cocoa in the house (choccy cakes/icing  ) so I usually make OS milky cocoa instead of the modern "Hot Chocolate" ...
.. you only need a little Cocoa per mug - just so long as you blend it with a bit of cold milk (to make it into a paste) before adding your hot milk.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It should taste yummy! You might need to sweeten it a little if your kids are used to the sweeter taste of drinking chocolate. Just add less and less sugar each time.:snow_laug HM Christmas 2010

Or...melt the choc first in a bowl over water and slowly add the warmed milk while whisking.
Some choc doesn't dissolve but the dark expensive stuff definately works. There's a fine line between not chocolatey enough and too bitter so keep tasting as you go.
And don't forget the squirty cream on top and if you reserve some of the chocolate you can grate it over the topJust run, run and keep on running!0 -
Now, I've only recently developed a taste for dark choccy and happen to have a couple of bars in the cupboard - might have to try the drink....... yum0

Oh! . . . and marshmallows a la Swiss style to make it really indulgent!0
