i could do a daily total and a final amount:A

I would be happy with this. We shouldn't over complicate this co-ordinating task for poor nettienoo. Those who are sending cheques will soon know whether it has reached her and been banked.

I'm also not in favour of amounts made public - bit tacky, and we specifically did not agree to an amount but did agree that it was up to the individual contributors.

I am just bumping up these messages from Jill so that everyone is clear on her wishes to date.

I realise that eveyone has different opinions on things, but the only opinion that really counts is that of Jill and her family.

This is about her after all, not us. (Thank God)

I think it is wonderful of Nettinoo to take over the responsibity of the donations and all it entails. It is a big responsibility and I am so grateful to her and I am sure everyone else is. Thanks Nettie :T :T :T

If I can make a suggestion. Perhaps Jill should be asked as to what she'd like to do.

Having nearly been there myself I know that if we'd been given any amount of cash it wouldn't have felt right to keep it ourselves. Having watched the nurses and doctors fight for our daughter it wouldn't seem fair. Or not to me anyway. Any money we were given as a result of the death of our daughter would have been given either to the hospital and supporting charities (eg, funds that provide accommodation to people who come from a distance), or a meningitis charity.

These people are like gods and the work they do is simply amazing.

As for listing donators its a trivial thing compared to a child's life. I don't think any of us would worry.
    :A Message from Jill :A

Hi everyone, I have received this message from Jill and she has given permission for me to post it here, so you can see what her wishes are, rather than me parphrasing them and perhaps getting it wrong..

Polls, I've just started catching up with the messages, I've haven't got through them all yet but have seen the one about donations and sending a cheque to a meningitis charity.

We have asked for donations at the funeral instead of flowers but we were thinking of giving it to Alder Hey as they came from there to treat him at Whiston and were trying to stabilize him to move him to Alder Hey.

It was AH intensive care team who came down and fought so hard to save him. But we haven't made any definate decisions on that yet. I hope you dont mind me letting you know. I think I'm drawing strength from the messages at the minute.

    Thanks Polls.

Also this is part of another message after I explained that nettienoo was organising the donations for Jill and her family to do with as they wished ........

Was just going to PM you again, I've just got to that bit. Thats very very kind and such a lovley thought from all of you. That is fine with me, about the message too thats fine also. I will post myself in the next day or two when I can find the right words. I would like to get something to keep with it also, something to remember him by. Not sure what yet though.

New product coming in October, found this at The Times online:

SOAP & GLORY: THE CULT MUST-HAVE
In 2006, Marcia Kilgore, the founder of Bliss, launched Soap & Glory in Boots. It had retro packaging, inspired by 1950s pin-ups and old tabloid newspapers, and fun, fruity formulations that felt luxurious — and, what’s more, they worked. Products such as The Righteous Butter and The Fill Monty not only had funny names, they became bestsellers. This autumn, the hot ticket will be its new facial skincare range.

    Must buy

Make Yourself Youthful anti-ageing facial serum: “The most effective anti-aging facial serum ever,” according to Kilgore. “It combines a widely used anti-wrinkle peptide ingredient and a ‘delining’ corn extract with an incredible booster that makes it all work better.” The best part? It retails for less than £15. Cheaper than a shot of Botox. £12.99, from Boots. It isn’t available until October, so in the meantime, lather up with the Clean of England Bath and Shower Wash, £5
