This is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.

Jill and family, we don't know each other but please accept my condolences on the loss of your little boy.
My son caught meningitis at 5 weeks old, but we were lucky that he pulled through. I am truly saddened that your little one wasn't so fortunate.

My prayers and thoughts are with you. We all wish there was something we could do to ease the pain for you, and I know we can't. We are here for you. Mega cyber hugs to you and your family xx

I don't know if this helps, if not dismiss it!

When my Dad died I bought a tree for my garden (a buddlea butterfly bush coz I like the white angelic butterflies).

My mum bought a bench for her garden and we had a little plaque made for it.

    Just wanted to help

    love Peg xx

I agree we do need a cut off date, but we also need to make sure that everything that is sent does get passed on to Jill.
I'm not sure of the scale of this but perhaps Nettienoo could kindly make a list of the people she has received donations from? Or send a pm maybe? I posted mine today but only had a second class stamp so it may take a while
Maybe we can send a cheque for all monies received by Saturday, and then maybe do another cheque a little while later if there are any stragglers??
What do people think? It's really up to Nettienoo as she is the one kindly taking the time to organise it!

i will send a full list of names and donations to cpg

We were also another lucky one to escape meningitis. She had streb B at 2 weeks old. She was only a dinky one as well. Ended up in PICU. After a few nearly deadly scares, we came through it. But even then the diagnosis from the docs for her future was terrible after they looked at a brain scan. Turned out they were wrong (or so far anyway).

But the memory is still with me and it scares me everytime I think about it. Saw the hospital on the TV last week...had me literally in tears.

I know how close we were to losing our little girl (I'd even picked out where she was going to be buried...with my nan so that she had someone to look after her) and so felt the need to pass along my thoughts and condolences to your family. Nothing more that can really be said. Except to look after yourselves and remember that we're all with you in spirit.

I want to say so much more...but I don't have the words. But you already know what I want to say.

Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.

    OMG,

Haven't been on here for a while, but just read about poor Jill. I can't say how saddened I am to hear about such a tragedy.

*Sending Jill lots of superfly hugs and love and hope she can be strong for herself and her family.*

I'd just like to add my sympathy and prayers to you with all those on here, I really don't know what to say as I can't imagine what you and your family are going through, but please know you are so much in our thoughts.

'you don't have to know someone to cry for them'

I've spent the last 24 hours hours trying to think of something to post to Jill and failing, as words really can't convey our horror at Jill's loss and our support and sympathy for her and her family, but I read this post and thought I would quote it as I think it expresses things very well.

With heartfelt sympathy and hope for a brighter future.

    Love, Clare

 not being funny but do you think listing donations (as in amount given) is a good idea, as some will be able to send more than others and I wouldnt want this to put people off sending something, even if they think it is a small amount, as it has already been said that no matter how large or small the donation it will all add up. just a thought, hope you dont think I am speaking out of turn :o
