 not being funny but do you think listing donations (as in amount given) is a good idea, as some will be able to send more than others and I wouldnt want this to put people off sending something, even if they think it is a small amount, as it has already been said that no matter how large or small the donation it will all add up. just a thought, hope you dont think I am speaking out of turn :o

i'm not wanting to embarass anyone. but i dont want people thinking ive not sent all i've recieved iyswim

    Hello pashyyy :),

I still think someone could list just like the people's names on the board, and just update it whenever there's another donation etc. Not actually the donation of how much iynwim. So like we all know that our donation got there safely, and then no need to bother nettienoo with messages like ''have you recevied my donation yet?'' i dunno.... :p:rolleyes: Depends on what everyone wants i guess :D.

Sorry if i have said anything wrong etc :o

nettienoo I am sure that no one would doubt you, and I see why you are doing it now, just didnt want it to offend anyone, or like I said, let it put them off sending as they cant afford much..
sorry if you think I am speaking out of turn... didnt mean any offence to anyone, sorry if anyone took my message the wrong way x

If I can make a suggestion. Perhaps Jill should be asked as to what she'd like to do.

Having nearly been there myself I know that if we'd been given any amount of cash it wouldn't have felt right to keep it ourselves. Having watched the nurses and doctors fight for our daughter it wouldn't seem fair. Or not to me anyway. Any money we were given as a result of the death of our daughter would have been given either to the hospital and supporting charities (eg, funds that provide accommodation to people who come from a distance), or a meningitis charity.

These people are like gods and the work they do is simply amazing.

As for listing donators its a trivial thing compared to a child's life. I don't think any of us would worry.

    Noone would think that nettienoo!!!
It would be nice to know the WHOLE total at the end though, like the cheque you would be sending to Jill.
You have kindly offered to do this, and to me anyway, i trust that you wouldn't do that at all... it didn't even cross my mind tbh..
If your worried though that someone could think that, maybe you could log it all down on a piece of paper.. and if it does happen, then post it to prove it iynwim.
But im like sure that didn't even cross anyone's mind, your such a nice person!!!!
And we are all grateful for you doing this :D

    :A Message from Jill :A

Hi everyone, I have received this message from Jill and she has given permission for me to post it here, so you can see what her wishes are, rather than me parphrasing them and perhaps getting it wrong..

    Quote:
Polls, I've just started catching up with the messages, I've haven't got through them all yet but have seen the one about donations and sending a cheque to a meningitis charity.

We have asked for donations at the funeral instead of flowers but we were thinking of giving it to Alder Hey as they came from there to treat him at Whiston and were trying to stabilize him to move him to Alder Hey.

It was AH intensive care team who came down and fought so hard to save him. But we haven't made any definate decisions on that yet. I hope you dont mind me letting you know. I think I'm drawing strength from the messages at the minute.

    Thanks Polly.

Also this is part of another message after I explained that nettienoo was organising the donations for Jill and her family to do with as they wished ........

    Quote:
Was just going to PM you again, I've just got to that bit. Thats very very kind and such a lovley thought from all of you. That is fine with me, about the message too thats fine also. I will post myself in the next day or two when I can find the right words. I would like to get something to keep with it also, something to remember him by. Not sure what yet though.

Well considering how many pages of messages have built up I hadn't managed to get to that bit. Thanks for letting me know.

Same thing happened to us....but of course our tale had a different ending.
