    Hi all,

Well I am going to have to change my target for Xmas '08 but have to work out finances first so bear with me.

We are still waiting for OH to get paid, he is due to get it tomorrow but we have been living off his credit card so that is more debt. We also rent out a flat (we rent now ourselves, moved from our flat last year to another city). The tenants didn't pay the rent yet (due 1st Aug) so there are late fees on all my credit cards because I have no buffer in the bank for this. Will have one from this month on though, I have learnt my lesson.

Anyway, when this is all sorted out I will have a figure. At this stage if I break below the 20k mark I will be lucky. Feel so annoyed and down about the whole thing but know I should have had a rental buffer for this.

Ok, have updated my signature. It looks like a target of £22,000 for Xmas might be more realistic. Aghhhhh, so annoyed with this. At least I am not lying to myself and burying my head under the sand.

OH is looking for a job to do during term time as well so hopefully we can get it down even further.

clear my debts, at least you are aiming for something realistic.
i had to change my target too- and now mine is really low compared some some of the others- but it is realistic for me and our current financial situation, and if i can pay it off im one debt clear which i wasn't before this challenge.

do what is realistic for yourself, it will help you stay focused )

    Hi Noggin,

Thanks. Your right. I have to pick a realistic figure and if I can do more than that then it is a bonus. £3,900 is still a big figure to try and get rid of, I jusy would have loved to have gone under 20k. Am so impatient!

lol. i know i feel like that. i wish i could aim for the £1500 which i aimed for at first, but there is no way on this planet ill be able to pay that much extra money off debt by christmas, so no point in pretending i can. im aiming alot lot lower then that now, its more realistic and it will stop the inevitable dissapointment when i can't reach the high target.:o
DH has just transferred his Capital 1 card onto the 0%, we had laready put petrol in last weekend- 0% on new purchases for 6 months. So there will be £320.69 on there inc transferred fees.
This is what I will be aiming to clear before Christmas :o

I will be starting tomorrow with a £10 payment online :D

    xx

    Yay,

OH got paid today. First time in nearly a year as he has been at uni. I was able to pay off £300 and should be able to pay off another £1000 when I get to the bank. After feeling so down over the next few days it feels good to be able to see my debt shrinking again!!

I made a nother payment yesterday, less than £1000 to go now to make my christmas target. Sounds like a long way to go. ill have to be more committed to my ebay listings if im going to make it.

Glad to see everyone is doing so well making their overpayments.
