Pay a debt by Xmas 08

  • I'm going to do this too. I have a charity credit card with a balance of ~£700 that I want to clear by Christmas. I currently pay £50 to it each month, but I'm also going add additional funds that I'm making with eBay and lightspeed surveys. I only joined lightspeed last week and I've already been paid £4 to my paypal account :D.

I do have miniscule savings (despite the general advice, but I'd rather have a small amount saved away than ever have to pay anything onto the credit card again), and I'll use that in December to finally clear it if I've not managed to do it by then!
  • Hi, can i please join?

I would like to pay off my Barclaycard by Xmas 08, current balance is £2,300, may not be a realistic challenge but i'd like to give it a go. :o

    Well done Hypno,

It must be great to see the back of the Egg card. Will that be all your debts paid off by Feb then?

I am going to get down to the bank tomorrow so I can update my signature. My OH might be getting some work to do during his uni year so if he does I might be able to go reach my target of under 20k by Xmas.

Gosh no - I still have £50k of debt to go and nice though it would be to see it gone by February, I would need a small miracle to assist!!!

It is nice to see the back of the egg one though!

    Sorry,

Just looked at your signature. Wow, you have done really well since December though. That must have taken a lot of determination to shift that amount in such a short space of time.

I must admit I am focussed but find it hard to be good all the time, especially when I used to spend. spend, spend. The only thing that keeps me going is knowing that when I have no debt (apart from mortgage) I will be able to save some and then spend some. I will also have more choice which is a major thing to me.
