Edinburgh, not till the end of May, but the more 'ready' I am the better - not sure I'll ever feel ready, but will try!

Yay, it might even be on the national news if we're lucky - there's a few DFWers doing it!

I've just spent £2 on a sandwich  but it was lovely - chicken, bacon and avocado :p

Gosh, how did I forget my bit of debt-related news  Got home last night to a form from court for one of my debts, which was previously with DCA, then a few months ago they wrote to me and informed me that they were no longer dealing with it, with no explanation of who was! Suppose I should have chased it up, but I now have this form saying that I can make an offer for monthly payments to this other DCA. It says if I don't offer to pay then judgement will be entered against me, so am thinking that I don't actually have a CCJ (unless I refuse to pay, which I won't).. not that it really matters because my credit rating is non-existent as it is.

  • Sorry about that squizz these DCA's are a law unto themselves and in all honesty they should operate under a full disclosure property, if only to help people sort stuff out and not waste courts' time. Common sense is definately not their Forte.

Perhaps you should go for the CCA "prove I owe it and prove you own it" letters...

    Sounds like they are confusseded...

Sigh, I dunno.. I've got a fortnight to reply so will have a think, I do owe it, but I dunno why they've decided to pass it about.

Anyway, having a lazy Saturday - popped down to Tesco and came back with lots of potatoes as they were reduced to 35p for 2.5kg, so will be trying to think of lots of potato recipes! Have had a quick tidy up, really need to hoover but can't be bothered :o

Pound a day total has been bumped up a bit by food shopping (including £2.99 wine and 89p chocolate (200g) as there was no Value stuff left), so I now have just under 67p a day left.. I'll probably need bread and toilet roll sometime but otherwise shouldn't really need anything. And I have day/ night out next Sat which is budgeted for separately.

Had a grumble to myself about Tesco having a Christmas tree up... but on that front I haven't spent any more yet. Have been cutting up bits of Christmas features in magazines to make cards with, and carrying on with the surveying etc. Have enough points for £10 voucher with Consumer Pulse but not decided what to get yet, probably Waterstones voucher. And my mum's scarf is growing, slowly!

Mmm, time for more tea and chocolate :)

The question is more "do you owe it to *them*?"

Gonna be a pain if you pay it to someone random...

This selling on of debt is very confusing - its not just a delaying tactic to check that they're the right people to be paying .... what if their Accounts Department is behind the Sales Department, and they've already sold your debt to someone else? You might have comeback, but you'd also have months and months of hassle.

I like the lazy Saturday - my central rug is desperately in need of a hoover, and its simply not getting it! Toilet roll.... madame, may I recommend the poundshop? Its not the cheapo stuff that looks and feels poverty stricken, but there's nice brands a lot cheaper than at the supermarket.

Good for you on making your own cards - I just can't do that, I'm afraid - I buy packs of similar, and use each pack over about 3 years, and keep a note in my diary of who I've sent them to, so people don't get the same 2 years running. I have looked quickly at the prices of making your own, but they actually seem more expensive than nice ones from cheaper places (you have to search for them, of course, or buy in January).
