Tia I was having trouble with Firefox last week, it was slow and kept crashing every 10 min, so I downloaded the latest version and it seems to be working fine now

I'm with AOL so been using AOL browser as Firefox is slower with AOL anyway. Then AOL browser kept crashing.... but this is ridiculous! Like back in the dark ages of dial up! :rotfl:

I do prefer Firefox right enough... it has spell check! :j

Will have a Google I think. Road tax first though.

    Hey guys,

Getting near bedtime but I just thought I’d check in. I’ve had a fantastic day today...not only is everything in the living room looking ace, but I’ve managed to maintain high standards in the kitchen, even washed up twice today!

Tomorrow is the bedroom (we only have one) and to be honest I’m pleased that the list revolved around the bedroom as it is an absolute pigsty. To set the scene, there’s the computer desk all covered in cr*p and next to it a small mountain of things I’ve listed on ebay. Next to that, a pile of clothes that need sorting and putting away from not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 laundries. :eek:It is literally half the height and the full width of our double wardrobe. I reckon just doing all the jobs on levels 1, 2 and 3 will take me half the day and I’ve got loads of other stuff to do as well. Still, as I keep telling myself, I only have to do the mammoth clean once and then it’s just all maintenance....right???:rotfl:

Hey ho, anyway, I’m feeling good about myself, and in a funny way have really enjoyed being so busy today. Roll on tomorrow, but for now I’m off for a well deserved G+T and to kick back in front of the box for a wee while.

Well done everyone who’s done so bloomin great today. Cookie, I have to give you as special :Tcos it seems like you’ve had a smashing day and got loads and loads done, glad you had such a good time at your BBQ Jill D I’ll have to try and follow that diet....the chain husband and his firiends to the fridge diet....although.....if I did I’d probably walk in and it would be empty with a very happy (and fat) husband! :D

    Hi all

Thanks for all the kind wishes:A , really appreciate it. To be honest, when the call came thru, hubby took it and when he told me, I burst into tears of relief that we have a roof over our head:j . We can get the keys on 10 July, so we have a date to work towards as well.

Downside is the removals cant take our stuff till 4 august:eek:  ! But DH told the welfare office (polite but very firmly) that they are allowed to go and get another company to move us, and the army has to foot the bill. He did it when he was a clerk so they can do it for us:rolleyes: .

The Legion people came and went through everything with us. They were really nice:D and said that they didnt know how long it would take:( but that they would do their best for us . The guys that came are only volunteers and dont make the decisions so fingers crossed. Our problem is we have found out that the car payments do not have PPI , the loans do but the car doesnt:( . So we can make one more repayment on it and then zilch:eek: (unless one of us can find work to start straight away).

Hopefully the legion will come thru for us. If not then we will just have to find another way of sorting it out.

And then the army really stiffed us big style:mad:    .

DH went online to check his pay, and found out that they are giving him this month's money by cheque! We are in germany for goodness sake! How the hell they expect us to pay that into our bank (TSB) i don't know. And they have conveniently not paid us all the money they owe us which is about an extra £2000 so DH is going in tomorrow to tell them his wages get paid into the bank and he wants all the money he is owed within 48 hours, no arguments! That £2000 would get us back to uk sort out the expenses for taxing the car etc, and get us a good lot of shopping in to stock up the cupboards. And pay for the ferry home!

When we found this out, I burst into tears ... again. But DH is furious and is not taking no for an answer when he goes in tomorrow. He also has to hand all his kit in as well so that should be fun:rotfl:

DD1 was on a school trip yesterday, went with clean hair in the morning, came home with live hair in the afternoon:eek: ! Treated us all and that was that. So off she went this morning, all treated and hair clear, came home and her hair was like the costa del nits again. So went out and spent a fortune on more treatment  (this time essential oils stuff, blooming expensive) - and it worked:D . Am livid because the school were told this morning:mad: . So decided if she comes home tomorrow with anything in her hair that should not be there then I'm keeping her at home till they sort it out!

DH's answer to the problem yesterday was to cut her lovely long hair:eek: andwhat a mess he made. Her hair is really thick and it was halfway down her back. He botched the cutting and me and my friend had to sort it. It is now an inch below her ear! But she loves it and thats the main thing. She has decided that she wants to keep it like that cos its grown up! And DD2 had to get her hair cut this morning to keep up with her big sis!

So that is our excitement for today - the latest installment in the saga:rotfl: I feel like i've written a book. Oh yes and DH has now decided after today that he does not want his job back, he is just going to go for massive compensation from the army for the way he's been treated (and us of course!).

So thanks again everyone, keep your fingers crossed that the legion comes thru for us, it really would help us out of a nasty situation that is looming on the horizon.

Sleep tight all and speak to you tomorrow!

Dustykitten - I forgot to answer your post in the "book" above lol.

Well, I'm originally from Inverness and Elgin is about half an hour away so we will be quite close. Close enough for in case of emergency and far enough away to have our own space lol.

Forgot to say, my mum was made redundant on Saturday, went to town today with my dad, and came home with a new job that she starts in the morning! She's really nervous as its completely different to the job she did for 27 years but i'm sure she will be fine!

So we did have some good news in our family today!

    Morning all

Another nice day by the looks of it. I'm running out of summery stuff to wear! I think today it'll be the light cotton draw string combat trews.

Bonsi - big hugs hun - you WILL get through this time and will be able to look on it in a few years with less anguish. Just take things a day (or even an hour) at a time.... you'll get there.

Right, off to work shortly. Have a good day ladies
