Hi
I have done absolutely no flying today apart from the basic dailies. I have been shopping all day with my step daughters, for clothes for holiday and shoes for eldests prom. I am so shattered now i will be playing catch up tomorrow. I haven't even looked at tomorrows list yet.0 -
I did most of the lounge yesterday so it didn't need much today, so I've started sorting out my recipes. I've got a couple of recipe books with only one or two recipes I like in them, so I'm going to type them out then charity shop the books.
Went to a meeting my my DS's school this evening. Due to funding there are not going to be enough teachers next year so they are going to merge year 4 and 5 into three classes (usually there are two classes for each year group). They will be streamed for numeracy and literacy, and for French they will be in the own year groups. I don't think it will work out too badly, and as he is about the youngest in his year (and he will be year 5 next year) I think it will work out fine for him as he is slap-bang in the middle. We'll see how it goes.
Right I'm off to bed with a :coffee: and my new book - the GL Diet for Dummies which I bought today with a book token a friend gave me for my birthday the other week.0 -

I never go into our bank :rotfl:0 -
On the go here, kitchen quote is 3 grand but i have another 2 people coming over the next week to give me there quotes, so we'll see what happens.
Police never came to FIL today even tho they said they wouldso FIL has bagged up 600 plants into bin liners and left them in the shed for them, house is looking great now.
Right i'm finished flying and i'm going for a long soak and then to bed, night everyone.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
OK so I've had to ditch the "lists" this week and just go with what NEEDED doing.
Got loads done today, was hosting a birthday bbq for my sisters 21st so needed to get the kitchen presentable. It was such a mess I actually had to put the shopping in the hallway when I came back from the shops this morning because I couldn't get into the kitchen to put it away  but it's absolutely gleaming nowor it was until we had our bbq
The bbq was fantastic. It was chucking it down with rain, but we decided not to let that spoil it and the men all went out to the kids playhouse to light the bbq's and cook the food :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It was comical watching 3 grown men sitting in a girlie playhouse with their can's of beer making the dinner. Obviously the food had to be eaten in the kitchen so it's a bit of a mess again, but not nearly as bad as it was and it shouldn't take too long to clean up.
What I've done today:
Packed lunch for DS's nursery trip
Shopped
Decorated a birthday cake
Washed dishes
Hung up and put away [STRIKE]mountain[/STRIKE] pile of clothes
Sorted all underwear/socks/bibs/nappies etc and put away
Washed down worktops in kitchen
Washed windows
Cleaned windowledge
Cleaned microwave
Dusted tv etc in kitchen
Cleaned back door
Cleared and cleaned shelves in kitchen
Wiped down fridge
Cleaned kitchen table
Removed toys etc
Put all recycling stuff in car ready to go tomorrow
Put all the rubbish out
Swept kitchen floor
Doesn't look like much now it's all typed up on here, but it has taken me allllllll day. Oh and I also blew up a load of balloons and put up banners etc
Will begin following the lists on here from tomorrow, but I also have my health visitor coming out on Tuesday so I'm going to use that as motivation and try and do as much extra as possibleStarted comping 29/10/2010

OK... list...
Just to do my PC desk.
I have also finished the pendant and proud with myself, I'm getting better at it! Also made some mugs for DS2's nursery teachers http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/tiamai/jewellery016.jpg
Hope they like them, they are just a mug with a crispy cake wrapped in cellophane popped inside and then wrapped with more cellophane. Plain and simple.
Anyone know how to speed up firefox when using AOL??? Bugging me that it's so slow!
Anyway, quick check of bank accounts then get that road tax sorted and clean the PC desk.0 -

JillD - well done you and your husband on the battle for the open space. I've been there, done that and won more than I've lost. (and some are still pending).
One of the things I've always had a problem with is the well rolled out Council phrase "Underused". As in "that area is underused therefore it needs to be developed'. No-one has ever answered my question of "will you please define over-used - or at a minimum 'used'?"
With more and more brown field, back fill, gardens etc. being given over to high density housing all over the country, our traditional open spaces in the forms of parks are fast becoming the only places left that people can go and enjoy a bit of space and stroll, unregimented and at zero cost. If they are all developed into 'this activity' 'that activity' etc. there'll be nowhere left that's free to enjoy.
But I'll get off my hobby horse and go to bed
