talkshop,
I think sparky was offering to pass the temporary card number and therefore the points on to you.
So it might have been of some help to you.

Thanks for the clarification.
So with the card, do you still only get the 10% off, but with more points that you can use for a later purchase ?0 -
It seems the 10% off has been rumbled by boots, so you won't get that.
But you can use codes previously mentioned on this board to get either 10% off or 2000points (= £20.00 to spend instore), if your order is over £100 . Add to this triple points (12, instead of the usual 4 points for every pounds spent).
Up to you whether or not you still think it's a worthwhile offer, but a thankyou to Sparky and Jummy for offering you something for nothing wouldnt go amis (in my humble opinion).

Looks like the 10% free thing that was on automatically has gone forever :S
does any1 know if i buy one of these now that they are still in stock or not?
i know you can still buy one on the site, but do they still have them in stock?
Anyone any news at all?Cheers Petchy0 -
TalkshopSo with the card, do you still only get the 10% off, but with more points that you can use for a later purchase ?
Boots error giving 10% off has been discovered by Boots, so you aren't going to get that now.
However if you use code TTXG98 you can get 2000 advantage card points = to £20.00 if spent instore.
If you use code MPDJ98 you will get 10% off your order.
You can only use one of these codes, not both.
Either way, if you order between now and Monday you will alsorecieve triple points........ie 12 points for every pound spent.

Confused as to how the Boots.com orderprocess works.
In the email I got from Boots, it states:
Your order is subject to normal terms and conditions. If we are unable to supply any part of your order we will remove the item from this order and notify you as soon as possible. For details please visit the web site at:
http://www.boots.com/features/feature.jsp?articleId=1001145
We are unable to change the delivery details or cancel this order for you
and
USEFUL ORDER INFORMATION:
We will validate your card once you submit your order. Before your order is accepted it is subject to further validation checks and we will notify you of any issues.
We aim to supply you with everything you have ordered but where this is not possible we will send you the available products and remove those that are unavailable. We will notify you of this and you will only charge you for what we dispatch to you.
In the T&Cs it states:
Acceptance of orders
We validate your order and credit or debit card details you submit to us before your order can be accepted. Once that has been done, we will confirm that your order has been received by sending an e-mail to the e-mail address you provide in your registration form.
Subject to further validation checks we may choose to make, our acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding agreement between us
I have received an email confirming my order details, and my order status is "This shipment is being processed" with a delivery date of "By 22nd November" This is as an Xmas present for my son, and I had intended ordering some games to go with it, but obviously do not want to do that until I know I am definitely going to receive the PS2.
So my questions:
1) At what point is my order "accepted" by Boots, creating this legally binding agreement?
2) My interpretation of the above comments suggests that Boots can cancel the order at any time prior to the goods being despatched. Is this correct?
3) If they cancel the order for any reason, would I be able to claim "loss of bargain"?
ThanksHow do I add a signature?0 -
I'm soooo glad the old Boots non-real time order system and terms and conditions are popping up again! NOT! Anyone remeber the 50% off offer?
When I ordered various digital cameras using the aforementioned code they cancelled them automatically for various reasons including: stock availability/having two accounts registered with Boots (myself and my girlfriend) which had the same billing address, etc etc.
Thing is, Boots customer services are very good and do try to help you out. They offered me alternative items with the discount past the cut off date and when these got cancelled they helped me out again with more alternatives. They do have get out clauses from their T&C's though in a "if it isn't in stock there is nothing we can do as it isn't on our system" style!
Good luck everyone! One thing I'd really hate....is to have a nail banged through the back of my neck.0
