    I've been there ;D

I lost 3 stone on the weight watchers diet combined with exercise and I kept it off,
then I had back problems, was off work for 10 months and told to avoid exercise until they found the cause,
since then I have put most of it back on, mainly due to lack of exercise and comfort eating,
I've been back in work 18 months now and stayed at same weight due to lack of motivation really,
but come the New Year that is going to change,

nearly all back problems BENEFIT from exercise, please visit your GP for a checkup though before starting,
stronger abdominal muscles will support your back, and increased tone will improve your posture, less weight to carry around will also help your back,

with young children the main problem is finding time out to exercise so I used an exercise video it had 3 seperate exercise plans each lasting 20 mins and you could do one or combine and do a longer workout,
combined with the weight watchers diet I lost between 1 and 4lbs a week,

Good luck and keep in touch

Rosemary Conley's Inch Loss Plan is the only one that worked for me. There's so much food I couldn't eat it all ;D I'm a bit of a fussy eater so I'd swop meals around a bit. I still lost a stone in one month :o

(snuck the odd choc bar too :-[)

i did slimming world, i found it easy once i got into it, and there was always something i could eat. ;D
  • Since November last year I have lost 73lbs (5stone 3lbs). It was all done without spending a penny on special diets. It was just good old fashioned portion control, balanced diet and a bit of extra exercise each week. I still have 3-4 stone to loose but you take your time and eventually it comes off.

You see you cannot possibly loose weight and hope to keep it off - if you change your habits short term. What you need is eating habits that you can sustain for life, then your not on a diet but you have a diet.

I'm happy to email you personally with some of my secrets of success, but you'll have to tell me how to do that as its not entirely obvious to me at the moment.

I find that having 3 kids has made me lose weight. I was size 16 after i had my first, 14 after the second, and 8 after the third.
You could borrow my kids for a while - the perfect weight loss programme. I dont diet, just make sure i have regular meals AND regular snacks, and work my !!!!!! off at the gym a couple of times a week. also i have 4 flights of stairs at home which probably helps somewhat ::)
    Best of luck.

  • I'm the same as 160. Lose weight in the summer, put it on in the winter.

Lost 2 1/2 stone through the summer, now hardly any clothes fit me, all too big. Tempted to buy new ones but worry new onew wont last for long.

I work a lot in the summer and am really active at work. On my feet, walking, lifting and shifting etc for up to 12 hours a day. plus ride to work.

In the winter i don't work or ride as much. But this winter I'm determined not to put all the weight back on. I put most of it down to activity. Ifeel really bad if I've sat down all day so try to at least be active at some point in the day. If I'm working that's active if it's a day off try to at least go for a walk or ride for 1/2 an hour. I do eat choccy biscuits etc but not everyday. Don't eat take aways - cant afford them.

Most meals are quite balanced, meat veg and pasta eg. Although I do sometimes have fatty dinners, but not too often. Nothing better than a good stew in this weather.

So far so good. I let my one and only pair of "bought to fit" trousers tell me when i'm not active enough.

I believe in everything in moderation, portion control, keeping active.

I used to put weight on at Christmas and lose it in the Summer. In fact one Christmas I put a stone on in 2 weeks. :-[ Last year I didn't put on weight at Christmas and it give me the confidence to lose 2 stone in the new year. I was on tablets which made me go up to 12 1/2 stone, I used to be 8 1/2 stone, although now I am 10 1/2. What I'd do if I could lose even 1 1/2 stone!!
