The mystery shopping thread - part 4

Any tips from seasoned revealers (sounds a bit rude don't it) would be very welcome!
When I did mine I just said something along the lines of :
"This evening I have been visiting as your mystery shopper, and tonight I feel that you have delivered excellent service, and so I would like to give you this certificate which you must pass to be countersigned by your manager in recognition of your hard work."
I quite enjoyed doing it - it was nice to see someone receive a direct reward for the job they are doing.
But if I hadn't seen anyone who had really excelled, then I wouldn't have given it.
The person I gave mine to wasn't even a waitress or barstaff, but a host type role but even through a few brief interractions she really shone and I bet doing that sort of job she probably doesn't get that much opportunity to really have that much direct contact with a customer, in comparison to the waiters/bar tenders.
PS - I wasn't the one sending nasty emails to Chas - because of course I'm an angel all the time! Actually, as this is a discussion forum, if I disagreed with someone's posts, then I'd probably post back on the thread, or just simply not respond.
And whilst I think that it really isn't cricket to dob someone in for a faux pas when their income is at stake, I think LTD probably might accept that they may have crossed a line with confidentiality (I don't know, I don't recall those specific posts) and as a result risked being linked by any of the MS customer's employees, or indeed the client's themselves.
This forum is fantastic for discussing industry best practice, and for helping and supporting and does a wonderful job of both - there is certainly room for both and a lot of crossover between.

Oh please! I gave the service bits a bad report. I am not going to say the toilets were hideous because the service was no good! And the mini mini tantrum was after I called RE, and the lady on the phone said don't just sit there, complain! And for your information, it is against GAP's briefs to make a complaint or moan!0

Well folks I did my mystery flight on Saturday and my internet connection has been on the blink till tonight. ( gee thanks BT)
Well it was nearly my last MS as I thought my next one would be at the pearly gates.!!!
Flew Glasgow to Belfast in the most awful weather. Bumpy the entire way. We were not allowed to go to the loo or even get a hot drink from the trolley dolly.
Then the descent into Belfast OMG it was hairy. Getting a bit near the ground the wing got caught in a gust of wind and tipped up. So now we are all leaning left then it tipped the other way and some of the passengers screamed. The girl next to me was a nervous flyer as it was so gripped my arm so hard with sharp nails she cut my arm and now I have blood all over my nice white blouse.
So I belted to the bar in arrivals and downed a voddie and tonic. Then into Belfast to buy another top. The shop had a sale and I tried on a top but wondered if I looked a bit fat in it. So I asked the girl and she said in that lovely Belfast way" Yes you do a bit":rotfl:
Then to crown the bloody lot I took my new mobie with its super duper camera and took 32 pics of my right eyeball.
Can anyone beat that. Oh the joys of MS'ing.:rotfl:Clique member no 1.:D0 -

Thanks
around the 30th to about the 4th and around the 15th you will get sent an invoice that you fill in and email back, payment takes anything from 3 to 10 days depending on your bank once you have sent the invoice back.
if you do work 1st-15th u will get paid with the invoice 30 - 4 and the 15th of month to end you will get paid the middle of the following month.
example I done a job 1st june got paid the 7th july.
hope this helps
it does explain it better on their site page in questions and answers section0 -
I have a few pub jobs for RE this week and have noticed they have dropped fee from £5 to £4, tight but could be the way things are going to go?0

paulherts - this is the way things are going at the minute although this company are becoming quite greedy IMO - more and more often, they include something along the lines of "the reimbursement is a contribution towards your meal, not for the full cost of it" - soon enough, they'll be doing reimbursement-only jobs.0

I'd like to hope that the person who (for want of a better word) shopped you to the company isn't someone who actually posts but maybe a lurker.
Just thought I'd make the point that there are LOADS more lurkers reading this thread than the people who post - in the past I've said to people to PM me if they want to know such and such; a lot of them I didn't recognise as regulars. (not that I mind at all BTW!)
It wouldn't surprise me if the MSing companies have people assigned to reading the forums - they should do really as they can get some quite valuable feedback from here!0 -
The other three were venomous in the extreme. Needless to say I ignored them but I do smirk when I see these users portraying themselves as all sweetness & light, when I've seen the other side of them.
I'm sure I know who one of them was, I have had similar messages from them myself! :mad:0
