On the subject of the "reveal" MS jobs, I always take the voucher and I always REALLY want to give it out to see the happy look on their faces for getting recognition for hard work - but i've not had the chance yet! I think i've done 4 of these jobs so far.
I have had really good customer service but I wouldn't quite call it exceptional - although I think they rarely have a chance to be exceptional and would only really get the opportunity if something happened out of the ordinary or something went wrong with my drink/meal and they would be able to "excel" in their reaction to that.Proud meowmy of four fuzzy cats0 -

Oh please! I gave the service bits a bad report. I am not going to say the toilets were hideous because the service was no good! And the mini mini tantrum was after I called RE, and the lady on the phone said don't just sit there, complain! And for your information, it is against GAP's briefs to make a complaint or moan!
You'll find that the mantra for Mystery shopping is not to cause a scene or be memorable when doing a visit.
Had you put that extra information in the original post it would have been a little clearer, though why you threw a tantrum or why RE told you to complain is beyond me.
Less experienced shoppers reading your post would think it is OK to cause a scene.
If you do, then you become memorable and it is more likely that the shop will dispute your report, regardless of how accurate it is.0 -
Well folks I did my mystery flight on Saturday and my internet connection has been on the blink till tonight. ( gee thanks BT)
Well it was nearly my last MS as I thought my next one would be at the pearly gates.!!!
Flew Glasgow to Belfast in the most awful weather. Bumpy the entire way. We were not allowed to go to the loo or even get a hot drink from the trolley dolly.
Then the descent into Belfast OMG it was hairy. Getting a bit near the ground the wing got caught in a gust of wind and tipped up. So now we are all leaning left then it tipped the other way and some of the passengers screamed. The girl next to me was a nervous flyer as it was so gripped my arm so hard with sharp nails she cut my arm and now I have blood all over my nice white blouse.
So I belted to the bar in arrivals and downed a voddie and tonic. Then into Belfast to buy another top. The shop had a sale and I tried on a top but wondered if I looked a bit fat in it. So I asked the girl and she said in that lovely Belfast way" Yes you do a bit":rotfl:
Then to crown the bloody lot I took my new mobie with its super duper camera and took 32 pics of my right eyeball.
Can anyone beat that. Oh the joys of MS'ing.:rotfl:
Oh dear god HP - glad your back on solid ground. I use to fly quite a lot from Cardiff to Belfast and the planes were never very big and one bit of bad weather was a nightmare. Must say though your humour gave me a laugh first thing in the morning. Have a good day x
I've got a free day today - apart from calling RE to see what the proofreading check was. Seeing midwife this afternoon for 28 week check up so will be resting on sofa this morning!!0 -
I did a reveal job on an external company who had a stand in a supermarket. It was a young lad who I MS'd (it was his first day as well - bless him!), and he did well and got a good report. There was an older woman working with him, who became aware what was going on with work.
I'm in and out of various other supermarkets with a mix of work and picking up groceries, and this stand keeps and the woman keep moving round the North East. Everytime I walk past this woman gives me an evil eyeball now
The money is in the bank for those still waiting reimbursement for the GFK travel jobs. Mine is still wrong so I've emailed to query it. Check yours to make sure it is ok!Here I go again on my own....0 -
Just called RE and spoke to a really nice girl. Only one quick query - on phone for less than a minute. Hopefully by the end of the day I will no longer be probationary and will be able to look for more work. Yipee.0

good luck with getiing more work with RE Ellie, but I am concerned about Timne and Paulherts' view - it does look like things are getting stingier. Noone has responded to my post about how in most jobs casual and sessional usually lead to higher rates...it does seem weird to me that the rates are so low but then I guess supply and demand dictates the rates...
HP what a day for you. Hope your credit card jobs at the airports were less eventful... (and no you don't look fat...):DGala bingo wins £70!!! mystery shopping earnings: £0

I think as the economy being as it is at the moment as well it could be that MS firms are having to be more competitive in sourcing their work. I can bet that what I earn in Wales is quite a bit lower than some of the fees in London. Then again what I see as a good fee could be peanuts to someone in London. Do we know what cities everyone is from to maybe compare levels of work? How far do people usually travel to do an MS job? I'm trying to get a few jobs in the same area to minimise travel, parking etc. I usually print my briefs off at Mum and Dads so I don't use any ink or paper (crafty I know!!). I know at the start of me MSing I read loads about it not making you a millionaire and it wasn't a full time job. I'm off on maternity leave soon and the way I look at it is that every bit of extra money I get goes towards the Christmas fund or buying something for the children. I'm not looking at it as a way to make serious money. I do like good customer service and if I can help improve my local shops then that's an extra perk! I don't know what everyone else uses their money for but in my view in this day and age "every little helps" and if it gets you something that you otherwise wouldn't have been able to get then that can only be a good thing. Any views??:question:0
