.....and it was only a couple of pages back that we were all talking about feeling the love....

yes I know that some of us are in 'competition' with each other due to being in the same area (as was posted ages ago when someone (miserably) pointed out in no uncertain terms that this is not necessarily about supporting each other), but I think the colleagial support on here for what is effectively a very lonely kind of work is more valuable than any of us may realise. Yes, I know there are other forums out there, but I still say that without this forum, and the willing posters, we would be lacking. There are plenty of jobs to go around, the companies like to rotate jobs around different people anyway, and I think it's time for me to stand up and say I totally abhor the sneaky behaviour that ltd has experienced and appeal to everyones better nature. It was totally against decency and humanity.

I think we cross posted read my post at 890....

Sorry but I do think that was underhand. I posted something last week without realising and cookinmummy posted to remind me that I shouldn't have mentioned the fee - I was very grateful for that as hadn't realised. Like you say I'd like to know what they got out of it apart from petty satisfaction. Hope everything is OK x

I did my first job for RE on the weekend - underground sandwich shop but they've e-mailed me to say "A Proofreading query has been raised on your report". Any idea what this could be? I will need to call in the morning.

I had a proofing query on my first RE report too - they just asked me to describe the salesperson, and I'm 100% sure I'd done that in my report! I think they just like to check up on newbies.

There are some people on this board who've said that they refuse to call RE - that RE should be calling them if they've got a query. They have a good point, as MSers are typically a bit strapped for cash - that's why we're doing this, after all - and the queries can be a bit pointless.

I'd like to hope that the person who (for want of a better word) shopped you to the company isn't someone who actually posts but maybe a lurker.

I know I don't post often but I always read and the people on here that post often seem so friendly!

I did e-mail them twice to say if they wanted to call me or e-mail they had my mobile number and my e-mail address but nothing. If I'm on the phone for more than 5 mins tomorrow I'll be asking them to call me back!!

Either way a timely warning to all.

But if you do not resolve their query then you won't get paid.....

on this thread maybe, but some of the people who write lovely, friendly, helpful posts openly on the thread are also capable of writing pure venom by private message.

I've only been msing for a couple of months but not sure how much longer. I think probably staff from the companies read this site and after a time are able to put some names to posters. I think it rather sad that you cannot say what you feel without being penalised when the names of companies are not revealled. The pay, even on 'good jobs', is an absolute pittance for the time involved. Might be ok if you can just walk down the road and do a shop but for how many of us is that possible? By the time you pay to print of the notes and questionnaire, read it all up, travel to the site, maybe pay for parking, spend the time actually doing the job, travel home, then spend endless time filling in the form - all for just a few quid! (Only £6 on a lot of phone shops) This sort of job isn't really going to make a hole in paying off credit cards etc if that's what one is hoping to do. Doing a paper round will probably bring in more money and a lot less hassle! If you do start a union Guy I for one will join.
I had a peculiar incident at one shop which I would love to divulge but that would unmask me to that particular company! I'll save that for another day!!
