I've had a Kenwood HB7111 for a few years now and it's great. It came with 2 different sized sticks ( one for in the pot) and one for in something narrow.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400

Can't fault it and I've had it & used it just about daily for 15 years, and my friend had it for two before me.I'm still using a Bamix I bought in the early 80s. They are expensive but I've never had a problem with it. I bought the wet and dry mini processing unit last year to go with it (I think they come with it now) and that has improved its' usefulness even more.

Another 15+ year old Bamix here. When it dies, and it will as it was dropped badly, it'll get replaced with a new one.

I have a Kenwood Triblade with the potato ricer attachment. Its robust and does a good job (I was surprised by how well the ricer does vegetable purees) It replaced a cheapy that lasted just under two years, and is coming up to three years of regular use. If it died I'd replace it with the same (or with the extra attachments version, which would allow me to retire the mini food processor)

I'm going to get one of them next time, I fancy the ricer.0 -
OH bought me a Proline from Comet which went 'Pop' the first time I used it. Took it back, got a replacement, it went 'Pop' recently, so I replaced the fuse. It went 'Pop' again a week or so later when someone tried to whizz a couple of tomatoes with it. I put it somewhere safe so I could go out and buy more fuses.
I've got the fuse, and now can't find the stick blender!Better is good enough.0 -
I have a Bamix (probably 12-15 years old now).
Not only does it do smooth soups and purees, but it whizzes up whole nutmegs into nutmeg 'powder' and spices for curries.
Don't just look at something that does cream, egg whites, etc. but something that is strong enough to do ice cubes and nutmeg. I don't think the Bamix can be beaten (but it's probably £90-£100 nowadays).0 -
I always try to get the best, but pay the least for it. I bought my Braun MR4050HC on 16/05/2008 from Argos for £29.39. It's made enough gravy and soup to float a battleship and it's still going strong. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Get one with a stainless end. My Braun plastic one melted in my lentil & tomato soup!0
