becs he's a German Spitz, very similar colouring as a Border Collie just smaller Must be a certain note to the blender that they don't like. He does it to strimmers, too
Ours does it to washing machine, breadmaker, stick blender, mixer, dishwasher, hoover, planes and probably a million other things too! Think earplugs may be a good investment for her!

I got the best (Braun MR4050HC. 450W, 2 speeds, food processor, jug and a whisk) for less (Argos £29.39), back in May 2008 and it's still going strong.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
  • I was given my (then second hand) basic Kenwood, no attachments etc, several years ago. I use it 2/3 times a week and it's still as good as ever. The only problem I have is the dog hates the noise and barks like crazy when it's on :)

Echo!! And mine has lasted for years too, not even sure who I inherited it from! But yes, GSD is scared of it (are you surprised, Sparrer?). I love it as previously, used to have to drag out my food processor, with blender, when I made soup. The hand-held one is a godsend (hardly any washing up for a start!!)

oh yes becs, forgot the bread maker, helicopters, even airships which come over once or twice a year as we live very near to where they're built. He hears them coming from miles away, long before we do, he's like an early warning siren!

Oh dear, poor GSD Millie (she says, trying not to laugh ) not surprised at all. Like you I haven't a clue who gave me my Kenwood but whoever they are I bless the day they did :D
  • Thank you all for responding and I have put a note up the chimney asking for taxsaver's kenwood. OH loves mash potato and I find it a bit difficult these days but the Kenwood looks a good all-rounder. I have a small Swan blender (cracked I think through hot soup) and a Kenwood Chef (too heavy to keep lifting out of high cupboard and no space on the work surface), but right now I am time-poor and coming up to my busiest time of year in January so this contraption looks like something I will use a lot.

    That's a 700 watt one - which is good.

If for some reason Santa can't get that one, encourage him to focus on getting one with a minimum of 500W. I'm using 600W philips now, it's grand, but the higher (more powerful) the better. I had a measly 200-300W one at one point and it drive me nuts. Couldn't manage anything!

I think that is exactly what was the problem with the very cheap tesco one. It did what it said on the miniscule sized tin. I tend to make two or three litres of soup at a go and the original stick blender just couldn't cope. I am hoping Santa's new one will! Can't wait.

My very old (plastic) stick blender has developed a nasty crack which seems very unhygenic to me so I have stopped using it. But as we eat a lot of soup at this time of year I plan to replace it. The 'Which' reviews suggest a Kenwood HB724 as 'Best Buy' or a Kenwood HB723, so now I'm totally confused. If it has extra attachments which are good I might use it for other tasks in the kitchen, but I want a sturdy one which is easy to use. Any ideas please ?

I would go with a £5 one from anywhere.
