Try looking at your local council. Mine did a 2 week free trial. They dropped off a load of different kinds of real nappies to try which was fantastic as we didnt have a clue which to use and had heard that different nappies suit different sizes of baby. We use pre-folds. All the benefits of Terry's with no tricky folding and use a good wrap (we use motherease). Also I'd recommend looking on your local freecycle group. We got a load of bambino mio nappies, most not even used, for free.0

if your council gives a cash incentive this might end up being free http://www.kittykins.co.uk/kits/type/24
my council gives a one off payment of £30 when the health visitor signs a form to say the baby was wearing a cloth nappy. you have to get the form from the council.52% tight0 -
Hi
We switched to cloth at 10 days and use a variety of nappies. 40cm terry squares are great as they're not too bulky (use a variation on the Jo fold from the nappylady website - you just don't fold the corners in). Size 0 kissaluvs are fab, they do up with poppers and are really slim as are Bimbles (EasyPeasy nappies) although they use nippers and as she got a little bigger, Motherease Sandys (also poppers) are really good. We use ME Rikki wraps and love them.
Most of the early ones we bought were pre-loved from either UK Parents or other forum based websites.

We seem to spend a small fortune on nappies for our 1yr old daughter.....have people come across any cheap sources for pampers / huggies ?
We currently use Asda to buy them but wondered if on-line suppliers were any cheaper.
TIA,

Asda is the cheapest place I have found to buy Pampers. (I won't use Huggies becuase they leak too easily)
If you register with pampers online, they send out vouchers for £1 or £2 off a time, which saves a few quid more.:cool:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I saw large boxes of such brands at Costco in Liverpool but at the time (about 18 months ago) had no children young enough to need them. Seemed better value but check first.
OP advice about registering with the website for vouchers worked for me too.Wealthsaving - a way of life?0 -
Try reusables? You can buy them second hand on nappylady.co.uk and sell them afterwards. They are absolutely no problems to wash and even my husband can use them! I use motherease onesize nappies and I think they are wonderful, I wish I'd found them when my son was a baby, it would have saved us a fortune! I mean, you can't sell disposibles afterwards, can you?

Have a look at thenappylady.co.uk there is tonnes of advice and you can buy nappies second hand there too.

Costco are pretty cheap for nappies, between £17 and £21 for a box of 3 large packs of huggies or pampers, great value, we also found tesco's nappies work just as well too and are under £7 for a large pack.Pole Dancer In Training :rotfl:

I know you haven't asked for own brand details, but have you considered trying Tesco superfit nappies, they are absolutely fantastic.
I still put my son in Pampers as he sleeps 15 hours, and these are the only proven ones not to leak over that time
But for during the day I have been using Tesco nappies since my son was a year old, and I wish I had done so sooner0
