Good evening.....lovely summer evening here and I would be sitting outside with a nice glass of wine had hubby not just seen fit to desert me to go and watch men play with balls.

We have been and done most of our holiday shopping today, and are almost in budget. :o

And I think we have found someone to come and fix our camper - he's calling tomorrow to give us a quote, and if it's okay (well, we're going to have to pay it anyway, so lets hope so), he can do it one day next week. :j

I have finally been to get some new contact lenses sorted out, so I can see....woohooo! Apparently I have a slight astigmatism in my right eye, which is weird because no-one has ever mentioned it before. The optician said I've probably always had it. Anyway, I don't need special contact lenses because it isn't causing any problems with my vision.

I was paying £19.95 a month for my contact lenses (I know I know :o), and I have actually chosen a better lens that lets more oxygen through because I wear them for over 12 hours a day, and I am still only paying £13. She said that if I wanted to go back to standard lenses though, I could do that at any time, and that would reduce it to £8 a month or something. But I'm really happy with my new lenses, so I think I will stick with them.

I know I could buy them cheaper online, but this is just easy and convenient, and so it's worth paying that little bit extra, particularly as I'm not organised enough to order more when I'm running low (I even forget to order asthma inhalers, and that's pretty life-endagering! :rotfl:).

Stu also did a nifty bit of money-saving today too. Natasha desperately needed shoes, and we went in Jonathan James (I frequent ALL the classy shops you know....:D), where Natasha spotted some 'Fifi and the Flowertots' trainers. She started pointing and giggling, and saying 'Fi....Fi....Fi....Fi....'.

They were £10, but they all had little bits of glue on the sides, which spoiled them a bit. So Stu went and asked for a discount and got them for £7. :D

We brought them home, gave them a squirt with some sticky stuff remover, and now they're perfect!

weird you say about the stigmatism. When I last got my eyes tested, I was told I had one and had always had it - weird nobody else has ever said anything - I've had glasses since I was 7 and contact lenses since I was 15!

I always dream of being able to see when I wake up without putting on my glasses but my sight is too poor for the laser treatment.

The only one I can have is to have the actual lens replaced (eeek!) in each eye but apparently that would make me instantly long sighted and i'd need glasses to drive/read close up etc - kind of defeats the object!
