Morning Mrs S, i read your post on yesterday's chat thread about Ryan. You poor thing. It will get you down from time to time eh and its probably harder for dads to cope with their kids having aspergers; well in my experience it is. I suppose if you can if you feel like you are getting angry is just walk away to another room until the anger passes; but thats always easier said than done. Big hugs for ya all. xThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Hi Lenny, yes I think it maybe is harder for the Dads, although I must say, I was really proud of how well Stu handled Ryan last night. He was tucked up in bed (not asleep, but calm at least) by 9pm, and seems happier this morning, although I know he's anxious about school, because he was talking non-stop about Transformers for an hour, and there was just no distracting him.
I don't often feel angry with Ryan - I only really ever shout at Stu...lol! But we are trying to teach Ryan that when he is angry, he goes to his room (or to somewhere else quiet) and stays there until he is calm again. He has signs that he puts on his door, to tell us when he is calm enough for us to go in, or when he is really stressed and needs leaving alone. It seems to be working quite well at the moment, and he's starting to recognise when he is beginning to lose control, which is a big step for him.
Oh, and he is still dry at night - 6 dry nights out of 7 now, and 5 consecutive dry nights. I think the tablets are working! :T
How is everyone this morning? I'm a bit tired, but other than that, I'm great. Not sure what we are going to do today but Natasha is having a nap, and I might join her! :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
you definitely go for that nap snags, all that talk would have kept you up late last night;)
sorry you had a bad one yesterday, heres to a better one todayxxxxI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
oops i just checked the time between posts
err did you have a nap lol xxI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
I didn't get chance for a nap because she woke up, but she was still quite sleepy so we cuddled up on the sofa for a rest instead.
Posted this on the SW thread, but I just had to post it here too, because I am really quite impressed with myself! I made home made tuna fishcakes and salad for lunch, and it was gorgeous! They were just tuna, mashed potato, a little bit of egg and some breadcrumbs (with a bit of lime squeezed over them), but they tasted fab, and Natasha wolfed hers down.
Ooooh, I'm feeling all old style now! Usually when I try to cook anything, it tastes like crap!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

|That sounds great Snags, two of my favourite things, mashed potato, and tuna. yum yum - you might even inspire me...
I sometimes try to nap when Elliot does but sod's law dictates that he will wake up just as I'm drifting off...0 -
Lol, and then you end up feeling even worse don't you, because your body thinks 'yay, I'm going to get some sleep', only to be told 'nope, you're not'!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
