Morning everyone:wave:
It is nice to now say hi to everyone rather than just looking in.
Half day at work today so off home to catch up on ironing and do something with teenage DS's bedroom. It is somewhat of a health hazard at the moment so I may need to don protective clothing.
He does shift work so I have to 'get in quick' when he vacates his bed!!
I have had a few disasters in the kitchen this week and so feel I need to make amends and be some sort of a domestic goddess today;)
I am just getting to know a bit about all of you so I will send hugs to anyone who needs them and wish everyone a good day

Good Morning All
(((hugs))) where needed esp Stefejb DD's.
Lovely sunshine here so have 1 load of washing on the line and will do the towell wash in a mo.
Had a terrible night with DS again, he has normal hayfever symptons in the day - streaming eyes and nose but for the last two nights he has been wheezing badly and trouble breathing. Just waiting for the doc to call back as couldnt get an appointment today. Will try and keep him inside after school but hate doing that.
Need to clean the bathrooms today and should hoover but may see if OH will do that later. Some paperwork later and then should be nicely organised for the weekend.
Grilled pork chops with cheesy mash for dinner tonight.

Morning all

Nice and sunny up here and hoping it stays that way! The dull clouds seem to have passed now so fingers crossed there'll be no rain for the party!
Lots to do! Going to town now to buy the last of the party shopping and post 4 Ebay parcels then need to attempt to wake OH and tidy the house and prepare food! Thankfully I'm not feeling as hungover this morning as I thought I might!
Have a good day all, I'll pop back on later :wave:Small business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -
hiya guys
no complaining from me today - I promise!! A good nights sleep and a sunny morning will solve lots of ills don't they!
packing for the weekend - trying to get through a small mountain of washing and ironing. managed to clean the kitchen. Just got the floor to go and the hoovering else where. Would love to get the beds changed, but not sure if I'll have enough energy for that!
stef I cannot believe the welfare officer said that to your daughter! I would be suggesting to the school that that was NOT why you called them!
Smokey - hope yesterday went well.
Mioliere hope that OH gets out of your way for half an hour. If not why not pop up to Edinburgh for a cuppa!!!
have a good day everyone xxx

Hello all !
Not sure what the weather is going to do........started off sunny, then big grey clouds.
Sorted through all my paperwork..not half as much 'work' as I thought it might be so now everything is filed away and sorted.
Washing to do now then get the hoover out and flick a duster around then have a bit of 'me' time with my family history stuff.
Have a good day and hugs ((((((((((:o )))))))))))) to all those who need themMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

R.Mac - I wish I could come up for a cuppa but we are hundreds of miles away. 'Popping' up would take all day by car - if I ever get my own private plane I'd be up there like a shot! Glad you've had a good night's sleep - it makes all the difference, doesn't it? Don't work too hard, though; you also need plenty of rest and relaxation.

Morning Guys!
Still not feeling great but wont go on about it-promise:o
We needed to go shopping this morning as we were running out of basics and its the first time I have been out since coming out of hospital. Didnt seem to buy much but it came to £47.00:eek: ...OH bought me a lovely bunch of flowers though and we did stock up on their posh ham, butter, cooking stuff, Heinz beans/spagetti, yogurts, eggs, cheddar, fruit juice and loads of fruit/veg/salad. There was more, so seeing it listed out, doesnt sound too bad:D
DD has requested a Ploughmans for dinner tonight
...so we are having: French Stick, chunk of cheddar, pickled onions, third apple each as they are huge, FR Scotch Eggs, coleslaw and some salad. Looking forward to it. I have started getting my appetite back which is good but dont know for how much longer as Im back in hospital on Monday for 2/3 days for my second round of treatment.
OH made a beuatiful coffee cake yesterday, so am just about to have a small slice with a cup of tea.
WM is on and will be hung outside. There is another load to do and the cleaners have been here this morning, so house all nice and clean.
Smokey-How did you get on hun? Was thinking about you yesterday and was sending positive vibes.
Snowy-Lovely to see you back. We have missed you.
Hope everyone else is ok.
Hugs to all.

Hi all, hope you are all well,
Stefjb - I've been to some crazy crazy wedddings and I don't understand them at all. OH and I are planning on running off somewhere on our own - family would be very annoyed but I really hate fuss.
lynseyann - good luck for your DD today
Dazi - fingers crossed for the arrival of the little one
Candygirl - hugs for you
Everyone is busy here, I'm sitting here marking exam papers (luckily managed to grab an office from a collegue who's off on a conference so I have no disturbances and a door I can lock!). The deadlines are really tight this year - I can do it, but everything else is going to have to stop for a bit. Not been very OS recently - worked 18hrs yesterday, got in, had a bath and fell asleep.
OH had cooked, which was sweet of him so I felt a bit guilty not eating. It's my birthday tomorrow, OH is plotting something (he's hired a car) but I don't know what he's up too.
have a good day, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Hello everyone
hugs to those who need them, and candygirl I hope all is as well as can be with your dad.
Well, two days ago I got the news that a major work project with one of my agencies has come to an unexpected end, so now my income has dropped by £250-300 per month. Not a total disaster as I won't be struggling, but it means I can't save anything now until and unless I can find extra worlk to replace the loss.
That said, there are many in worse situation so I'm counting by blessings. In fact, I will have more time for myself, so I shall make the most of this AND finally put into practice many little money saving tips to be found on this board, which I was always too busy to consider.
One of the best things I learnt in here is the use of my slow cooker, and that has been a real discovery - never have I cooked such tasty stews!
Oh, a tip I read in a newspaper yesterday: rub the inside of a banana skin on leather shoes to clean them and feed them, then finish off with soft cloth. I tried and it does a great job!
Maybe this has been posted in here before, in which case apologies...
Anyway, having a day off today and spending most of it reorganising all my stuff so as to dump what I no longer need and make more space. Then, some money saving food shopping....
Have a great day everyone! :ABe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Hi guys,
Just got back from sunny Rhyl where I had to go and swear on the bible that details supplied for the probate were true. What a palaver, my brother took me but I've lost the morning for the sake of a 5 min appointment. Still it had to be done as I will need it for the mortgage and the solicitor needs it to proceed on with things.
Yesterday went very well and it was lovely to be back and to see everyone. I can say without doubt that I am glad to be back and having adult conversation again. The buses worked out well and I overestimated the time needed to walk the last leg of the journey so I can now get there without a mad dash at the end. The kids enjoyed their time at the nursery so hopefully things will settle down in to a routine.
I have a chicken casserole in the SC and a wash to go out on the line, I cleaned the house before I left this morning and I think I will go and potter in the garden for a couple of hours before picking up the kids from school.
I have been debating with myself about the coming Christmas and what to do about it. I don't think I can face it at home and as the children and I will have 2 weeks off am thinking about booking a holiday abroad for 7 to 10 days. The children have never been on a holiday (except DS1 for a week when Eric had his op) and having chatted to my brother about it he thinks now is the time to book for it as prices are fairly reasonable. What do you guys think?
Gentle hugs to all in need today, especially pen-pin, jayward, candygirl and poppy. xxxx
I hope you all have a good 'rest of the day' and there will definately be a glass of chilled being partaken of here too.
Smoky. xxxx
