HI,
When you do get home, go to the local council and declare yourself homeless, they then have to house you.
Make a claim for income support and child support and make a claim on the social fund for emergency cash to keep you going.
If your husband was injured in the forces make sure he completes a war pension or an armed forces compensation scheme form.
He may also be able to claim disabled living allowance, and incapacity benefit.
One word of advice do not fill in these forms yourself as you do not know the criteria, get advice from the citizens advice bureau in your local town.
YOu could also contact SAffa or other forces charities for help, like the royal british legion whose welfare officer could help you fill in the forms and may be able to help you in other ways.

Sorry to hear that you and your kids are being evicted, with so much debt hanging over you. Have you considered seeking advice from a debt management company. One company called Spectrum, fixed a friend's debt repayments to a manageable level for 5 years and should then have the clout to get them written off. i suspect that this would kill your credit score for a long time, but may be worth it in the long run. Good luck budgeting your way bak to UK.0 -
with the previous poster only having two previous post's i would be very careful about taking advice about debt management companies, either the poster is possibly working for the company or he has not seen this thread with regards to how bad they are0

thanks lee, am wary of these companies anyway, we are working on him trying to get to stay in, if that happens we wont need a DM company, not that I want to deal with one of thos companies!
Thanks to all for the advice and help! I really appreciate it xxLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Hi, you don't say why you are being discharged but say you have been suffering? My only comment would be that if you are being discharged because of an illness (physical or mental) then you must ensure that you are discharged under invaliding rules - this may benefit you significantly financially as your pension may be enhanced and if your condition is considered to be attributable to your service career then it may be tax free! Can give more info if applicable as the rules are complex and depend on when you became ill as the pension scheme changed in 05.0

Hi Bonsibabe,
You mentioned you want live in the North of Scotland and have applied to the Veterans for rehousing. On the Veterans website they currently have a place in Elgin, just on. Plus I think Fraserburgh. If it is not too far south Veterans have a 3 bed semi in Pitlochry, has been advertised for a long while - think the stairs are an issue - cannot be adapted for wheelchairs. The house is in a really nice part of Pitlochry. Hope you find something soon.0 -

Bonsibabe, Suteran has given you a good steer. The other thing that occurs to me is if it does all go pear shaped, and you are evicted from your MQ, you should get a Certificate of cessation of entitlement to occupy Service Family Accommodation'. The certificate is or rather should be provided by Defence Estates. You then send a copy of the certificate to Homeless Persons Unit of your Local Authority. Appreciate this is all dependant on where you know you are going to or where you hope to go to. I got this info - in an easy to understand leaflet - from the ssafa website.
Also another thread about medical discharge and warp pensions / compensation scheme eligibility looks to be very good advice. This requires contact with the SPVA at Torcross in Blackpool. It may take some time after discharge, and requires access to your husband's medical dox - he is entitled to them - but don't give up on this avenue either.
Good luck,0
