What I wanted is what I got in the end. The problem has been resolved so no further comment is really warranted.0

Oooh, that told me! :T0

It was not directed at you personally, more in general terms.0

Shouldn't you be watching TV!0

A fantastic thread, OP asks for advice, then doesn't like what's given...Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0

Not that I did not like it, I just thought it was wrong what John Lewis originally suggested and as I said previously they have agreed to replace the tv.
So, many thanks to one and all for your advice and comments but the outcome just goes to prove what the consumer can achieve with a little persistence.0 -

Persistence? Is that a polite word for being complete unreasonable?
If the tv is such an important part of your life, you really need to evaluate your priorities!Gone ... or have I?0 -
Ok,
Roll over then and I will give your ego a tickle and thank you for your post if it will make you feel better.
I took on board all that your clique (the same and only people who thank you for your posts or could it be that you are all the one person) had to say but went down a different path and was ultimately successful.
Having read a selection of your posts you do seem to spend a LOT of time in front of your pc/laptop having a pop at people who do not agree with your judgements be that from 1000 until 0100. Now, who needs to evaluate their priorities?
As I said initially, roll over then........0 -

Well done :T
I think people on here missed your point completely. I would hate to be without a TV for 2 weeks - the kids would drive me nuts :rotfl:
Anyways - a TV with a 5yr warranty that then goes faulty less than a year old - personally, I'd push for a new one as well rather than have it repaired.
And kids - play nicely....“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

How do you know they weren't going to do that anyway? I bet you didn't ask. It doesn't take persistence, you just have to ask.
Or do you mean they're replacing it, that probably just means they've changed their minds and has nothing to do with you.gabrielle_316 wrote: »Having read a selection of your posts you do seem to spend a LOT of time in front of your pc/laptop having a pop at people who do not agree with your judgements be that from 1000 until 0100. I'm self employed and need to spend a lot of time infront of my pc or laptop outside if they weathers nice. If I kept posting throughout the day then I must had decided to keep taking breaks:rotfl:0
