Not sure about the 'list', but all the wall paint should be wipeable and can be scrubbed quite hard. We've been told to fill all the picture hook/nail holes and touch up with magnolia, I'll be trying the same on any marks I find.Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0

I find almost all marks come off with either flash liquid or jiff (or whatever they are calling them these days). Failing that, a magnolia matchpot will cover up a multitude of sins.0

Sorry for the lack of responses recently... life has been a bit hectic!! I'll try and do a mop up of unanswered items shortly.
BTW - watch out for a slight fall in standards of move in over the next 2 months - new IT being implemented by MHS.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

Search google for Annington Homes - Which is not Defence Estates / Government owned. Panorama did a programme on the sale a while ago....
Essentially Defence Estates sold all properties and land to Annington in the mid 90's - at the down turn in the housing market - then are renting them back again - almost at market rates - BUT - DE have to maintain them and upgrade them - If DE then return them - they have to be brought back to standard or DE pays a forfeiture fee. - minimal benefit to the tax payer. Which is why I can recall estates with only 50% occupancy - even now on a different contract I have 2 estates with 50 properties in each with 4 occupied - though these are set to be handed back to DE then possibly to Annington in around 6 - 12 months.

Hi
My TV aeriel has stopped working, have called modern housing and someone is coming out to look at it this week. Am I entitled to a replacement? I would be grateful for any advice regarding aeriel entitlement.
Many Thanks0 -
Yes i believe they have to fix the aerial if its broken but i know someone they were a bit awkward with about it. They only have to fix it so your analog signal works though i think.0

HI there my water tank flooded my house nearly 3 weeeks ago now. I had to move into a hotel for a fortnight with my lo. (they expected me to stay in house until i complained that the dehumidifiers were no good for my son) the carpets were saturated and they were just going to clean them!!! I now have new carpets throughout the house and we finally moved back in this week. (it took them a week to remove the wet carpets)
anyway enough of that my question is my bedroom ceiling needs ripping down and replacing due to the water damage however i have been told this could take weeks as they have to test for asbestos I am assuming they have sent off the sample as they have cut a hole in my ceiling I am not living in that room at presant for obvious reasons.
Should we have moved back in if they have cut a hole in the ceiling and disturbed any asbestos?????
thanks in advance for your reply in advance0 -

Sorry I haven't read through everything and somebody might have written about this already. I can't find anything on the DE website about who to complain about neighbours.
We have a problem with one lot who leave their dog in the garden with access to the garage while they're away and the poor creature just keeps barking and barking. It's bad enough during the day but during the night when you're trying to sleep.... Nightmare.
Last night it went on from about 8pm to about 2 am. Guess how much sleep I got? The dog barks very loudly for a while, stops and sometimes goes quiet. The quiet periods might be 5 minutes or 30 minutes and then it starts again. My sister was visiting and said she was going barmy with the noise during the day. Even if you close the windows and you have the telly on, you can still hear it. It is quite a large dog and I've been in the garden on a nice sunny day when it's suddenly appeared with head and paws over the fence barking madly. I've been scared that one day it will jump over while I'm in the garden. I don't want to approach the neighbours directly since I don't know what they are like and don't want to end up with my car scratched or something worse.
Any ideas?0 -
26) What is the Housing Information Centre?
From 1 April 2007, occupants will no longer be able to visit local housing offices. Instead, for all housing services other than repairs (for example to be allocated a house or to arrange a move out or move in), occupants will contact the Housing Information Centre (HIC) via a single national freephone number - 0800 169 6322. If your enquiry requires geographical knowledge, there will be a menu facility to select one of seven regional HICs. All occupants should have received a letter from the Chief Executive, DE, explaining how to use the HIC service. Repairs should continue to be reported to the MHS Helpdesk.
Is it this??Illegitimi non carborundum.0
