We pay just under £200 for a 3 bed semi, think we are grade 2.0
-
ok - This is completely off the mark as alot of people seem to be complaining about their MQ...Not us!
If I recall correctly, there was a way of purchasing a council house after X amount of years in it...is there any route to go down about purchasing your MQ?
Probably not, but "If you don't ask, you don't get!"
Cheers!0 -

Nope, there's no right to buy (in fact you aren't even tenants in an MQ, you have a 'licence to occupy') - it's one of the (main) reasons why the rent is reduced.
Armed Forces do qualify for Key Worker home buying schemes (and equivalent outside England).Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
Don't rule out living behind the wire, the house and car insurance comes cheaper, also I feel a lot safer especially when my husband is away. Also when my son is old enough to go out to play by himself, I know he will be relatively safe. Yes, sometimes its a pain having to show your pass each time you enter, but I think for the added security it's great.
On our camp, you can leave things out on the front and you know they will still be there in the morning. Bikes are often left. You can also go away for long periods and know your house is safe.
Totally agree.... we used to live at Blandford Forum and I loved it.... car insurance was cheap, house insurance cheap, had shops on camp for necessities, plus a creche and a primary (going back 12 years mind). I also learned to drive on camp as the roads are classed as private, plus they had an excellent old disused runway and I learned my emergency stops on there... really it was just an excuse to try and get the car to fly hehehehee. Its a real community feel and I knew that I was probably safer here than I have been anywhere before and since... great peace of mind for when the hubby was away!!Starting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs

Interested to know about that to pleasde Kitch x
Now I'm intrigued, too, Kitch - we're about to buy our own house. DE were around today for the pre-moving out check which went well, according to OH. There's so much we could do to this place if it was ours, instead of the ancient kitchen, bathroom etc!Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
