I wasnt actually ever as angry as I sounded here, I got more upset when people told me there was nothing wrong with what happened. The message I am getting from everyone here is as no payment was taken they see it as no problem. Since sainsburies gave me that £10 evoucher it is likely I will use them at least one more time, but I have kept the asda delivery on so will have that this week and see if sainsburies can keep their site up for a week.0

Wow, I bet they'll be over the moon that you are going to use them again.
Be careful next time they come round, the driver might still be drunk from the 'Chrysalis is giving us another chance' party they'll be holding in your honour. Either that or they'll have spat in your food! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Gone ... or have I?0 -

on the delivery contract issue - surely as payment isnt taken until the store has packaged up your goods/food (usually the day of delivery), then no contract exists........
A contract could still exist, payment does not signify the formation of a contract. For example in a shop the offer is made by the shopper at the till, acceptance of the offer is made by the cashier on behalf of the store, at that point the contract is formed, and a contract exists, payment is made afterwards. Obviously it becomes more confusing online with automated systems and the like but I wouldn't suggest that a contract doesn't exist because payment has not been made yet. Again though, it is likely in their terms and conditions that contracts can be cancelled in this situation.Bought, not Brought0 -

Very nice terms and conditions, well written to cover different situations (availability of goods, varying of price etc). Unusually, it would appear that the retailer offers the goods, and the consumer can choose to accept the offer, and the contract is formed at the point of delivery:5.7 At the time of delivery, you or someone on your behalf will be available to inspect the goods. As the contract between you and Sainsbury's is not concluded until such time as you accept goods at the time of delivery, you are entitled to refuse some of or all of the goods before signing for them.
Also:9.4 Sainsbury's reserves the right to alter or withdraw the Sainsbury's Groceries Online service at any time, to refuse the service to any customer and to amend these Terms and Conditions and the 'help' section of this site.Gone ... or have I?0 -

So what do you want?
They apologised.
They gave you a tenner discount.
I would hate to see you when you do ACTUALLY have a legitimate gripe, as it is pwwrrtttt.
Do you think you were the only one, if it was unfair would these boards be full of "WOE IS ME" stories from other errmmm disgruntled customers?
The reason no-one else is moaning is because they have put it into the !!!!!! happens category.0 -
advent what is the vent forum for? to let off steam. But seems it should be closed as people letting of steam get question why they doing just that.
What is a legitimate gripe?
According to the bbc they had thousands of complaints believe me I am not the only one who was unhappy.0 -
