Basically had a delivery due today at midday, got a phone call about 11.30am telling me it wont be arriving due to their systems been down. Clearly they had some access to their systems as they knew I had a delivery due and got my contact details, judging by the message on their website my fear is there has been a security breach. But I am very angry they didnt honour booked deliveries and I am left with no food as I cant get out and do my own shopping.
Was offered £10 evoucher as compensation but told them I want a lot more then that mainly due to the very short notice given and the fact all that is lost paying someone to do my shopping for me.
I wonder if anyone else here is affected and if they know anything more about the problem, judging by the way the guy was talking on the phone I am expecting it be offline for days possibly all this week. He told me 48 hours.

According to the news this is due to a serious computer fault. I cannot understand why you have posted it in the "vent" board when it appears that this is something outside the control of Sainsburys. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Thank you for that, I have been on mysupermarket.com last night and today, all it tells you there is that sainsbury's are updating their site and to try again later.
I was getting quite annoyed about it- I always order my food online from them as I have panic attacks in supermarkets.
May just shift my order to Tescos now I know there's an ongoing problem.0 -
So what do you actually want from them? Blood?Gone ... or have I?0

if they have taken your money, then they have brken a contract- £10 seems pathetic offer. go for this order 'free', and/or some future discounts oo..
if no money taken, best nip to the shops yerself- and claim back petrol costs too (i hear one garage was trying to charge £1.99/litre..!!)Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
worrying p.s.. a cheque i sent to saunsburys bank last thurs (recorded del) is stlll not on, and no record of delivery yet - checked royalmail tracking both online, and phone..)
called bank, but they have no record of it yet, but said it takes 3days for them to process, and FIVE days to clear, if/when it does turn up?
1/ how come this takes so long- i thought new procedures had shortened clearing times..
2/ cheques paid in over the counter at other (high sret) banks show credited the next day..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

How is this "out of the control of Saninbury's"? Their computer system, their responsibility to have resilience and disaster recovery arrangements. Having said that, I think that £10 is a reasonable offer for the inconvenience.0 -

Are you real?
All that a court would do is put you back in the position that you were in before the contract was formed i.e. a refund of your money.Gone ... or have I?0 -

The computer messes up - they inform you as soon as possible and give you £10 compensation. What more do you want?0
